Hi, I'm a beginner student (but a jazz pro in background) . Actually I'm lefty, but some years ago I injured my hand so I had to restart as left side players. Despite the incident I continued practicing both hands, just to keep simmetrical flexibility. Obviously you must choose only one side performing, but this practice is very useful to realize the general muscolar envolvement of the body. We generally polarize our concentration on fixed postures, but the truth is that you play with all your body and you produce sound with all of that.
Am you always hold the violin with the left hand and the bow with the right hand regardless of if you left or right handed. You don't get to pick a side you play with. So what are you even talking about

😂A mix of an advanced mental state and physical inability. I feel like we have all had a less drastic experience of this working with our instuments. I feel like it is so important to have a balance of mental and physical ability to avoid frustration. Sometimes my mental state is more advanced and my physical ability holds me back and vice versa. Keep musically growing your minds and bodies yall! Music is of the mind body and soul thus all aspects should be exercised🎶 Beautiful playing Kerson, as always😙👌🏻
haha your appearance of careful yet amused concentration was incredible. the final result was beautiful too. I don't play the violin so both orientations felt normal to me (I enjoy playing air violin the wrong way), and that made your physical ease and comfy-ness and flow with the instrument just so stark and evident. great stuff. amazing video and idea
The fun of this "experiment" is that you were not completely like a beginner There is a part of you which is beginner and the other who knows what to do actually. We can infact distinguish what actually depends on the "muscle memory"/brain of the movements (the real beginner) and what depends on more general parts of the brain (the actual expert)… like the kind of pressure to put on the bow not to scratch, how to conduct it right, how to articulate the left hand…
Haha...it's hard...itlike trying to write with your left hand if you are right handed or write a sign on a glass on a store door so people can read fefore they enter the store... lol . Interesting experince.
