Ha! You are supposed to use the domed head bolts on the side - They need to sit flush..

Not perfectly but I can sit my sparco mod+ behind my TH8A shifter on this. Ideally though having the sparco mod vertical feels a little obstructive though because it's right behind the shifter

With drilling 2 extra holes, you can mount a hand break?

You can always do that, even if you have to build and attach an extra metal piece in U-shaped to raise to your desired height, if needed, the base is already there for that!
