Update: I bought the dvd, and it plays. switched the disks and just used the blu ray case so it fits with the rest of the others Playstation 5 Blu Ray Problems?
My PS5 started rejecting a lot of discs too. Now I am planning to get a dedicated player as well (probably a Panasonic UB820) but in the meantime I wanted to figure out what the issue is. I clean the discs.....and they started working again. It turns out a lot of the new discs needed to be wiped clean before I put them into the PS5 for some odd reason. But I got it working. Still planning to get that dedicated player just so I can save wear and tear on my poor PS5. That sucker is doing double duty.
I have the same plan to buy a blu ray / dvd region free player. My problem is I import a lot of movies. Because they dont make them everywhere. But last I looked, it cost 250€ I will try to do this wiping thing you talked about.
Try a blue ray lens cleaner. Make sure your system is up to date. When possible see if they work in another ps5. Ask a friend or something that has one. Maybe contact sony.
I'm not sure a Blu-ray cleaner would work, and the system automatically updates. That was one of the first things I tried. My wife has a ps5, and I tried it in hers and got the same message.
@sirducksworthythe3rd842 I plan to do the same, but last I looked, the pkayer was 250€ . The one I need needs to be region free and play dvds as well. I have a bunch from the usa.
4k are all so 3x as expensive as blu ray. I shouldn't have to buy another player when the Playstation says it plays them. And a new player is about 250€ because it needs to play dvds and blu rays.
@@MortonsReviews have u tested with other players? is a Disk issue or Sony? I'm waiting for PS5 Pro and will want to use the Bluray disk drive for films. Currently I'm using a cheap blurayplayer I picked up for $40 to play region B Lock 🔐 ....while my 4k Sony playet is also for region A.
@Reggaebeatman I have tried it in another PlayStation. Five, but it also did not play. I have my eye on a bku Ray player, but it's 250€ and that's a lot, but it plays Region free dvds and blu rays. I'm sure you will be waiting a while for the pro. The slim just came out. I'm sure it will still be a handful of years before it comes.
Oh, it's probably a region locked PS5. All if not most of my Dvds and Blu-rays work on my PS5. Maybe the PS5 is region 1 or A strictly. So 2, B, 3 or C aren't working because of it being Region A, 1.
@@wussupitsmeyaboi1210 Of course, that's what it normally would be.But according to the disc, i'm in the same region. I'm in Europe, that is region B the disks all says region B as well. So that's where my confusion comes from.
@MortonsReviews you probably have an American PS5. Also, it can only change regions 3 times.. is it possible you maxed out the changes of regions. I did some testing as well. I do have a region 2 DVD from Japan, and it says I have to change the region, but I can change it 3 times. Also, I did buy a region free DVD player 2 years ago, and It does play any DVD, including the DVD from Japan. Now i don't have a restricted region B blu ray so I can't help you there.
@wussupitsmeyaboi1210 I bought the ps5 in Germany from a store, and never once have I changed the region code. These disks came from the UK as most of my movies do. I will one day buy a region free blu ray/ dvd but that's like 250€ and that's a lot. That's half the cost of a new ps5
@sirducksworthythe3rd842 it's a problem they really should fix, lol. I wonder how many it doesn't really play. It sucks that 4k disk cost so much or I would only get those.
That's a plan, but I don't understand why region B are not working in my region.B playstation 5 I'm in Germany, I order a lot of my movies from the UK as well. Most work just a hand full of them don't.
Your best bet if you just want to play Blu-rays & dvds is to get a cheap used Blu-ray player for £20-£30 most Blu-rays are region free anyway and all the ones you showed are region b so you be fine
Blu rays have region codes. 4k are the only ones that can be played in any 4k player. The blu rayer / dvd player that is region free is about 250€ not 20 to 30, or that would all ready be done that way.
Playstation drive CAN play Blue-ray, but it was not build as a solid blue-ray player. My new Sony blue-ray player cost less than a playstation 5 and will play all region discs. Normally I stay for what the machine was intented for .. blue-ray player for blue-ray discs, playstation for playstaion games.
@Garymatthews9129 not any more the ps5 plays the ps4 games as well so there was no need to keep it. But I tried it in another ps5 and the same thing happened as well.
@Garymatthews9129 it's just strange it picks and chooses what ones it wants to play. I mean, I have a lot of movies, but all ready so many, kind of odd.
@@MortonsReviews I would buy a designated Blu-ray player. Because sometimes video game systems don't play everything for some reason. Especially burnt discs.
It's on the list, but last time I looked, it was like 250€ I need one that will play regon Free blu rays / dvd. But honestly, this is a pain in the ass that some disk it won't play. I had to buy the dvd version of Death proof, but I'm lucky that one plays.
