Me and my then girlfriend (now wife) were on Playstation Home as 2010 was coming to an end, and we have loads of screenshots of the 2011 New Year Winter Event. The game was still very busy then, and we had so much fun joining random conversations. I still bust out the Playstation Home dances at parties.
Playstation home was just awesome, so much fun, so many random people, it was awesome to explore the public spaces, do glitches, customize private spaces, customize character, role play, for someone with social anxiety it was a great place to meet new people and practice social skills
I was so obsessed with this game, i remember buying the wrong dance pack and I had to dance “capoeira” at the virtual club it was hilarious lol. I wish I could play this back in its prime again.
I remember playing PS Home years ago before it's shut down. While it's nothing special, I do find it interesting that you could meet people online and maybe ask them to play some PS3 online games with you or just chill and do a bunch of dancing in PS Home as a result.

Imagine if they released an official home for ps5. I would buy a ps5 finally if that's the case. I'm a pc gamer but I would go back to console just for that. Imagine entire cities where you can travel without just loading them or instant traveling if you don't want to. The only loading necessary would be loading people's private spaces.
We seriously should have gotten a sequel/full release/upgrade on ps4, hell where is Home Ps5 version? Sony dropped the ball on something that could have been HUGE!
i hear you bro, i miss those times its really sad these days I game most of the time alone too, most of my friends have dissapeared and the onlines one i met are gone aswell especially after the ps5 came out. recently busted out my ps3 aswell but it had wifi issues still works on ethernet, anyways I tried to mod it but it wouldnt work, so i bought 2 other ps3s both for $70 with 3 controllers and 6 or 7 games but that dont matter i just wanted it to jailbreak and mod. tryna see what games are still available and if people are still online lol. in the meantime im waiting for an available jailbreak for my ps4 and just bought an og xbox to mod and get xbox live aswell and see how live is again.
All of the unique areas were so fun to go through and got you interested in a game before they came out. If it wasnt for PS Home I probably wouldnt have played certain games growing up
I remember playing home in the private beta and doing the dance glitch to get on top of the ledge you weren’t allowed to, and seeing everyone going crazy asking how 😂 good times
I never got to play playstation home but one of the best memories i had for it when my brother was playing bowling on it. He would type he was the best wii sports bowler and he absolutely suck at bowling in this game.
I definitely miss this game. I started with MEEZ around 2007 but then the 2D side scrolling got boring so I switched to PS HOME and played it all the way to 2015, investing all my allowance on virtual homes and clothing. Was bummed when it shut down, but then 2020 during the pandemic, VRChat got my attention. I still play it to this day, but I would love to see a PS HOME 2 in the future 👍
Looking at the thumbnail im just thinking "is this some sort of second life?" Lmao im guessing this is responding to the 360s customizable avatars, but this is more irl compared to 360s avatar style that kinda helped the style of a few xbox games, like that kinect adventures game
Once I get another PS3, I will definitely get back on because my wife and I really want to start playing again and we are wanting to start our collection and then Im going to get back playstation home and once I do maybe some of us play together if you all want and start up a server.
i just got a good deal on a complete in box ps vita 1001 in really good condition with 2 games and the hard to find 64gb sony sd card. cant wait to mod it.
Why do you suppose that with all the enhancements that have come with every new gereration of console that the character used by the player is stiil just as stiff and awkward with limited movements as it ever was. It's like playing with an old school action man or G.I Joe. Each new generation brings with it enhanced, more detailed, background scenery. Even the characters are as photorealistic as they can be now. But still we have to deal with a character that is awkward in its "limited" movements. You'd think that by now improvements would have been made to how a character is controlled by a player. THERE HAVE LITERALLY BEEN NO CHANGES NOR IMPROVEMENTS TO HOW A CHARACTER MOVES BY WAY OF CONTROL BY A PLAYER. All game makers seem to be interested in is tarting up the imagery as if that is all that matters. And i doubt that this specific dynamic has been accidentally overlooked. They just can't be bothered because no one complains about it. It is quite laughable really !. Kind of illustrates what kinds of people are making games. THE SOCIALLY RETARDED !.
I don't buy your story about PS Home magically showing up on your XMB especially since Sony permanently removed it via a firmware update. I'm more likely to believe that your PS3 is running firmware prior to Sony removing it or you've softmodded your console to install PS Home.
This was the most boring sh1t I ever used. And I had it when it was brand new. So I don't know bro, by today's "Standards of fun" (which are very low), it might've been good, but by those days standards, it was lacking. You said it yourself, the games in those days where actually good, so, there is your answer.
