@ps4games164 It doesn't. They're charging you £70 for a game from a few years ago that can already be played on ps5. There's games that are trapped on old hardware that would actually benefit from a remaster like littlebigplanet or um jammer lammy.

Jak & Daxter. Spyro. SOCOM. Syphon Filter. Twisted Metal. Resistance. Killzone, so many others. "No original IP's"? They're sitting on probably 10+ that haven't had an entry in around 15-20 fucking years. But they choose to remaster and remake games that have barely crossed half a decade and don't need touching.
Bloodborne or Resistance would peak my interest. PC port BB and BB2, Resistance on PC and more. Always wanted to play that game with a mouse. Loved the first 2 and meh on 3.
Jak and daxter won't be getting remasters again unfortunately. The devs have come out and said it's to much of a head ache to program a jak and daxter game.

They have numerous IPs that they either don’t remember or think won’t make them money. Those IPs will definitely make them money, as long as they don’t pull another Helldivers stunt or make the old games look like Concord.
Whats crazy is a game like Ape Escape or another oh idk War of the Monsters game would cost significantly less than the average big budget game put out and stand a higher chance if making a profit quickly. Add in that it bolsters the lineup of games on their subscription services and its unreal that they haven’t invested in the smaller IPs.
There are so many good examples to follow, Elden Ring, BG3, Palworld, Hypercharged Unboxed, Evil West, Sonic Superstars, Vampire Survivors, Space Marine 2, even fucking Astro Bot! They just want to do next to nothing and get money.

Just through emulators on my PC. And also do play Indies as well like Trepang 2.

Just look at how many third party characters are featured in Astrobot as opposed to first party characters. Out of the big three, PlayStation has the weakest roster of IP. Objectively.
MGS and silent hill was by Konami, resident evil ,DMC was by capcom, Demon's souls and bloodbornes was by fromsoftware. I always felt like playstation was just riding on other peoples ideas and ambition.

We really know who is really in charge of Sony gaming entertainment is Tony Vinciquerra who is the CEO of Sony pictures. All the supposed games that are really interactive movies makes a lot of sense right now 😂.

I miss the days of quirky games like mister mosquito, dark cloud, ape escape, and steamboat chronicles. The ps2 has so many sleeper hits that would do amazing today.

At least Nintendo gives their developers creative freedom. Games such as the Mario + Rabbids games, Splatoon 1 2 and 3, Pokemon Legends Arceus, all Kirby spin-offs, Princess Peach Showtime, Another Code: Recollection, Hyrule Warriors, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and many more are super creative. Sony would never let their developers make games like that, those types of games are too risky and too weird

Actually I heard that some of the reasons why the old Sony IPs are not being made for PS5 is because some of the studios that Sony bought don’t want to make old IP Sony games. Some of these studios want to make their own IPs/games.

Single player narrative driven linear games is Sony's strong point so they sell the same game with new skins . From, last of us, days gone, god of war, Bloodborne, horizon, spiderman, uncharted, they're all the same and we've been conditioned into acceptance.😑
and the remaster of HFW is the exact reason why they pulled the original PS4 version off of their PS+ sub service. because they don't want people "renting" it when they are releasing a remaster to purchase.
I can't wait for the next generation where it's all digital and the original Horizon is delisted so the only way to play it is to buy the remaster for $100.
What frustrates me personally is they have all of these dormant first party titles they don't even return to either because they're forgotten or they didn't sell well but I know they would do well if they were given like a remastered treatment and these are titles that actually deserve the remastered treatment like Sly Cooper medieval and ratchet & clank deadlock

I wish they could. Jak and daxters source code is apparently to hard to work with for the newer systems. If I understood how it all worked I'd go into depth but I don't, just that the devs have come out and said it's to hard for them to do.

I’m so tired of movie games. FF16 was my wake up call. It was great to “play” the boss fights, then it old fast. During Titan I was like “just die already so I can move on”. Then after Bahamut, I decided to just skip everything and speedrun the game so I finally be done with it and sell my copy. I used that money to buy Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition. Zero regrets to this day.
It's so disheartening looking at the state of gaming over the last several years. I miss the days when gaming was about the games, not about the "cinematic experience" that it's devolved into. The days when gaming magazines were fun, had demo discs. When there was gaming news shows that weren't either pushing an agenda or thinly veiled advertisement schemes. When there were so many devs both first, second, and third party taking chances and making any off the wall experience you could think of. Nowadays, only the indie scene is keeping that spirit alive, and honestly, it's not going too well as for every Hades we get a hundred pieces of unfinished, half-baked drivel to the point that the indie scene is oversaturated with garbage. Can this industry crash again already so we can get the corporate cancer that's taken over out?
