I had the same problem with the drifting mechanics in Ridge Racer 7 but love the series as well so I'll get back in it one day. I never knew about that Top Gun game!
The Ridger racer games are fun, but the power slide takes getting use too. As for Top Gun it was superising to me, so I had to check it out. I'm not 100% sure but a did also fide a Gamecude one too.
