Insomniac gotta be the best acquisition in PlayStation history. Marvel Insomniac-verse!! This is insane! Literally my gaming dreams coming true. I hope Logan is voiced by Steve Blum and I already know it’s gonna be an emotional roller coaster. Those were some bloody knuckles so hoping it’s rated M as well. I’m also manifesting Insomniac’s Daredevil in like 6 years lol

@@hmmmm6157 We havent had a wolverine game since x2 wolverines revenge so not sure why they need to make something orginal. The character may not be an original IP but the story for sure will be so dont get this take at all. Just like their spiderman story it was completely original. These are the games they want to make and thats the passion that fricken matters. No one is forcing them to make these games, these are the games they want to make and thats the way studios should be.

So making these games will be easy money for them rather than making new ip from the ground up they will need to do heavy marketing to introduce it and still cant guarantee people would dig it. ND is also working on a remake of the original TLOU. Team Ico now genDESIGN is also working on a new game. Sony San Diego is also working on something. Sucker Punch is for sure working on GoT 2. Guerrilla Games is also working on something else. FromSoftware is also working on a new PS exclusive. Could be wrong, but too lazy to look up.

@@17Haru17 I'm assuming TLOU2 factions will be out next year. The Last of Us HBO show is most likely going to be aired in late 2022. I would imagine ND is trying to make that deadline for the remake of the first game. Whether they are working on TLOU3 or a new ip I don't think well see it until 2025-2026. I can see GoT 2 making 2024. Also, Spider-Man 2 is coming out in 2 years.

@@andrewbeecroft6509 Kinda like Last of Us, it would have to be M to have it done properly and without a ton of suspension of disbelief, but it doesn't need to be over the top violence for the sake of it either like the last game Raven Software made (unless that's what they want, up to them). I think of Ghost and how that game handled samurai violence in a way that felt real and true to itself while being different from past samurai action games. Still chopping heads off and what not but in a more impactful manner.

So, the Wolverine game is going to be in Quebec? The licence plate says it and HLK 181 is a Hulk comic with Wolverine. This comic was release in 1974, the year is on the register machine. Hulk is the vilain maybe? Plus, it's Wolverine first appearence in 74. Plus, some of Wolverine comics where in Quebec (in newer runs), but he's from Alberta. So maybe the more personnal story of the game is a roadtrip game in Canada, kinda a Last of Us with Wolverine? I'm all for it. In other news, having ANOTHER Deadloop trailer is telling me how much difficulty Arkhane have to promote this game. I'm sad for them, hope the game find a good audience.

On the Deathloop thing, what? Arkane games are always unique and therefore not easy to just set and forget, but the amount of promotion probably has much more to do with Sony's anemic lineup going into the next few months. Arkane is one of the highest quality game devs in the industry, so Sony's probably feelin' like it's the one to promote. Honestly, there should probably have been a demo, because it's the sort of game that'd sell itself once people get the feel of it.

Gotta agree with blessing here. Solid A-/B+ show. If it were just the last 10 minutes, Forspoken and Kotor, it'd be SSSS tier, but that middle dragged hard for me. I'm really looking forward to Deathloop, but I didn't need to see it again.

Yeah we didnt need another deathloop trailer and if Sony spaced out those reveals at the end throughout the show people who dont think this show was elite would think it was lol. Its just structure. For me I saw 7 different things I would play thats just as many as the show from a year ago.

I agree with Blessing's rating but the issue is that they gave MS's E3 conference an A when it was more like a C+/B- and had nothing that inspired real hype like Spider-Man 2, Wolverine or Ragnorok (no Perfect Dark, Hellblade 2 or Fable). If you're going to overrate MS's conferences, you sort of have to do the same for Sony. Sony's E3 2016 and the PS5 reveal were real S tier conferences. They need to give more B's, C's and D's.

How did Insomniac manage to get Wolverine? On Xbox side they are doing partnership with Disney to put crappy pirates of the carribbean DLC into a crappy multiplayer game while playstation is getting all the bangers. Even PC gamers won't get the Wolverine game. That sucks. We need to start a petition to fire Phil Spencer and Matt Booty or atleast one of them

Sea of Thieves has consistently been one of the most played games. And that "crappy" Pirates of the Caribbean game broke records for number of players in Sea of Thieves. It's also not like MS has single player games like Fable, Avowed, Starfield or Perfect Dark coming out, right? Not like they just published a single player game holding an 87 metacritic, right? I think this was solid, and not S tier. The problem was the 30+ mins of third party games, which were all solid showings but not really what we came for. The last 15 mins was so strong, but other than insomniac showing up, it was largely safe with so many questions like bluepoint unanswered. It’s been a year since we’ve had a substantial showcase from PlayStation, with hardly any news about their exclusive offerings. Because of how irregular they show up, when they do show, we want to know about their exclusives. That means if you have a large part of the showcase dedicated to third party it feels kind of disappointing. Because we can get those things in all the other more regular conferences that happen through the year. I think the lack of updates changes the expectations for their showcases, where the bar is being set higher and higher.

Hey Tim, lol why is this one of the best showcases when it does something you hate and have said time and time again well when it comes to Xbox at least. I remember the E3 showcase where Tim said Halo is way to far away and Bloodfall to far away. What did you say, show me what you have now not years away. And those are next year and most of the games here are multiple years away. Kinda funny huh!

Eh, I don't think what you're saying is actually true. "Bloodfall" (Redfall) is scheduled for next Summer and Halo is coming out in a few months. *People aren't going to force themselves not to get hyped for great announcements (Wolverine and Spider-Man 2 - an Insomniac Marvel universe),* and there isn't an issue with games in the short term. Horizon, Forspoken and GT7 are all coming in Winter/Spring. Next year is stacked.

I love Kid A and Amnesiac, and I love the art Donwood's produced over the years with the band (and on Thom's solo work). You're not alone, friend! These albums lend themselves really well to a visual representation too, IMO.

He's consciously downplaying PS in certain situations to try not appear fanboyish, noticed it a lot in the past 6 months. Helps build his critical credibility, so fair play, but I do think he's overdoing it.

Ueda isn't exclusively working with Sony anymore unfortunately so I wouldn't expect them to be showing anything for another year or two.

It does kinda seem like whomever was in charge of this conference sepcifically wanted to stick the screws to Microsoft's Xbox. KOTOR - Originally Xbox console exclusive. Alan Wake - Originally Xbox console exclusive. Wolverine - The game everyone assumed Xbox would get to counter Spider-Man. Aside from that, the reason it's not S tier to me is due to the lack of Bluepoint and Bloodbourne. I want my B&B babyyyy.

To be fair, Insomniac appeared in the show twice and they've released two games in the last year, plus a remaster of the first Spiderman. If they're willing to tease games like Marvel's Wolverine, maybe they'll do that for other Playstation Studios projects going forward.

Great reactions guys, really enjoyed that! Seeing Greg hold up the inFamous game when Spiderman 2 was being shown lol. Yes, I was a bit disappointed that there was no new inFamous game reveal, really hoping Sucker Punch is doing another one. Overall I thought the presentation was excellent, great mix of new ips, indie games and AAA titles and I felt they paced it well. We can't just have an AAA games only, I thought there was something for everyone.

Cool show, but I agree with Bless- Good, not great. mostly because I've been following Project Eve since it was announced, 2 years ago. So, as cool as it was to see it in a big conference, it's not really "new". KOTOR remake was being heavily rumored around the time Aspyr was acquired by Embracer, so that took a bit of the impact out, too. And that left Wolverine as the only truly "new" game (Tchia was announced at TGA 2020, and we all knew Spider-man 2 was coming). If the showcase had a few more brand new announcements, like a new Bioshock, the new game from Monolith, or a Focus Home interactive title from Deck 13, or Dontnod's Vampyr team- that could've made the show a lot more exciting. As it was, they showed a lot of cool games, but few of them were actually "new"

For me it was more the ongoing lack of Last of Us Factions and/or Bluepoint's project. Factions at this point is gonna have to change the landscape of multiplayer gaming for it to not feel like they've been lazy with it. But I also think some reorganizing would've helped the flow immensely. Start off with GoW, close with Spiderman, have Wolverine in the middle and the other big announcements dispersed throughout. I don't think segregating first party from 3rd party like that paid off.

@@Alex_Logan22 ND is still hiring lead designers etc for Factions. That game is a long way off. I feel like it was just going to be a multiplayer spinoff but Sony or ND decided to fully fledge it out into its own game. To the point they want to make a lot of Apex type money off of it.
