Great video. I am trying to convince my colleagues, that Selenium is good and does the job, but is old now and there are other options on the market that are better. I am a big fan of Cypress, that I use in my current project. I tried Playwright on a pet project and it is definitely a great tool. Now I am considering that my next first choose where I have this option. for example on a new project would be "Playwright". This is maybe the best comparison, that I have watched on RU-vid. You make great videos, big thanks. I am fan of yours already.
Next time try running over 1000 playwright tests with more than 16 threads on a single job and get back to us!...Selenium can achieve this with no problem without even using Grid!
you can run them with `--workers 1` in Playwright "with no problems". Parallelization needs power. Provide 32 CPUs and run playwright 32 times faster than with single threaded Selenium. @@alantest1521
I work at a company with 15 people working in QA. We use selenium for about the last 8 years and have build a whole system around it. It would be a massive undertaking to rebuild the whole infrastructure of autotests.
I was facing one big problem using Cypress and playwright due to lack of knowledge and help. Suppose we have organization website which are secure and requires system and user certificate (organization based certificate) otherwise getting invalid certificate error. And 2nd challenge is with shadow dom and , which are in use at Every step
Karthik, I really wanted another video comparing cypress and playwright, since your last one is two years old, and a lot changed. can we expect for it?
The last point may not necessarily be an advantage since it is time consuming to have updated our framework especially when there are breaking changes, but I agree it is an interesting tool
Hi Karthik.. Thanks for this great video.. Could you please let me know, all the configuration that we can do in JavaScript external file, How to do the same in C# playwright.
