Neat to be in a closed mall at night. I was in one with all the gates closed at night but had to leave within 15 minutes to the other end of the mall. But it was neat. Sadly, many malls resemble a vacant, closed mall but they're open for business hours. Neat mini-mall, thanks RRR.
I worked in a mall for The Bombay Company selling mostly smaller furniture items like end tables, and candle holders, prints, etc. Anyway, I was in a closed mall pretty often. We had to take art off the walls, touch-up paint the walls, put up new art in different arrangements, assemble furniture-- so that would sometimes mean working well after closing time. Usually once the doors closed it was a dash to vacuum, dust, close out the registers, as fast as possible. And all the other stores were doing the same, so it was till busy. But when we had that other stuff to do it could take hours. Overall it was very peaceful within the huge, otherwise totally empty mall, without the annoying customers, haha.

I use to work retail and there would be times when we would have to stay until midnight or one in the morning to do inventory. No one to walk you out and and it was so quiet I could hear my heart beat and every step would echo all the way down the corridor. Outside, my car would be the only one in the lot. Never ran so fast in my life and this was really before cell phones. So if my car didn't start, I would have been screwed.
