PLB/McMurdo Battery Replace/Test 

Nice video, thanks for posting this. I have a unit I bought in 2011, and now it's 2022. The self-test still shows three flashes of the LED, which means it's still fully charged. (The number of flashes is from 0 to 3, giving a measure of its charge.) Amazing how long these batteries last. Personally, I don't plan to worry about the battery charge until the self-test shows fewer than three flashes.

Thanks for the info . Found custom made batteries on e-bay for 50 bucks. It took me 10 minutes to swap them out with your help .

Hi, great job thanks, done two units with Duracell long life CR123 batteries, does the McMurdo EPIRB's Smarfind G5 take the same batteries?

Can you share the contact info for the place that will build your batteries?

Were you really rebuilding that on a paper magazine? High static damage risk, better off with a grounding wrist strap on a grounded mat. Just a thought.
