Truth, they improve your situational awareness 10x in any game. Why would seeing less be an advantage for a day 1? It’s a quick glance with your eyes instead of moving your mouse. Hell, for Rulk I can have sight of him at all times.

@@Emrirwastaken most games support ultrawide. There are also many fixes for games that are stretched or stuck in a 16:9 aspect ratio. While it is a bit of a hassle to deal with sometimes, I still think the extra effort for those rare few games is worth the extra screen space. If you get a 32:9 ultrawide you could also just split the screen into 2 16:9 displays as well. I love being able to see more. I’m not a competitive gamer so I’ll take the ability to see more on screen (especially in my peripheral vision) any day.

My setup was the very last pic (with the 2 monitors). For destiny, it's great, but it doesn't work well for some games. The PS5 doesn't even support that ratio.

I’ve gained a lot more skill with the wider screen issue now is having smaller screens means I don’t see as much and it just feels super uncomfortable not being able to see so much with just a glance.

It's the opposite for me, I mostly use speakers because I DON'T live alone. I'll only use my headset if I'm doing a raid or something else that involves comms so people don't have to hear echos through my mic, but otherwise I go with speakers because my PC is in the living room and I want to still be able to talk to my wife when I'm gaming. But also because wearing headphones for too long can get uncomfortable.
