I love when Edward mentions that. Oddly enough he does have a name it’s just never mentioned, it’s Gordon. But yeah you’re right he’s not supposed to talk
The irony is platypus actually *do* lay eggs, they’re part of a group of mammals known as monotremes which including the echidna are capable of laying eggs despite being mammals
@@gojizard704 you either weren't around during much of the late 2000's through early 2010's or don't remember but Camp Lazlo always got a lot of flak and was considered as part of the beginning of CN's downfall alongside My Gym Partner's a Monkey. It would always get compared to Rocko for that very reason you listed, but shunned for not being quite on the same level of wit and risque-ness, and would also get labelled a Spongebob wannabe, which not helping things were the fact that multiple crew members from S1-3 Spongebob (some of which had already transitioned to Spongebob from Rocko) hopped over to Lazlo, including several writers, voice actors, and even the sound and music editors which further rammed in the Spongebob vibes, creating a very similar identity from a writing and audial perspective. Painfully poetic too considering Stephen Hillenburg helped Joe Murray on Rocko. It's only been here in the past decade or so that Camp Lazlo's reputation has began to improve
