With this song the great voice of David Cassidy comes into its own! And John Lennon thought so too. He also looked so damn good in his prime! Thank you for music. RIP
I heard an interview with David Cassidy where he said he played this to John Lennon once...and Lennon couldn't remember the string progression. Cassidy had to refresh his memory! LOL
that sounds like fun to hear...I've got nothing against Lennon...I just know that Cassidy was more talented than him. NO reason for all these lymies to get into a snit about it! lol
David Cassidy singing this, is way better than the original!! I say this song belongs to David!! He made it his own, like he did with so many other songs !
LOL! I'm sure you're a huge fan but..... All I hear is a copycat band with several guys trying desperately to stay in pitch and tune. Better than Lennon singing it? Maybe on a real real real bad day.
Better than the original? You are joking, aren't you? He keeps growling (I cannot stand it when singers growl .. if I want this I will go to the zoo) .. he does not have one tenth of the talent or charisma of John Lennon.
Reminds me way back in 1978 when kids were telling me how much better was the soundtrack of the Bee Gees doing the Movie Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart's club Band was way better than the way the Beatles did it. That record had other songs from other Beatle LPs and the performers did alright. After all, there were big names on it but as time has shown, The movie and the star-studded recordings were throwaways and the Beatles' recordings still sell millions a year.
