Glad you had fun, to bad the fishing wasn't better. The same people are doing an inshore tournament in southport in August. You will have to check that out also
My son lived at Kure Beach for a couple of years. My favorite places were 1) a couple hundred yards north of the pier is some kind of drainage pipe that goes way out in the water, all around that. 2) there is a hotel a little further up that used to have it's own pier, the pilings are still in the water, usually inhabitated by pelicans. That is 2 more fish attracting structures than anywhere on Oak Island.
They seemed to be eating it up for me as well. Much more so than the fish bites. I’m gonna have to try using it all by itself without shrimp and see how it works.
That’s how it goes some days! I would consider participating in an OKI surf fishing tournament. We used to fish the Oak Island Classic down there. Hope that returns this year!
