Pleasureland Southport 1990's 

Wonderful video makes me happy and sad at the same time.

Always used to go to Morecambe, Blackpool and Southport pleasure beaches with the kids ..proper seaside funfairs!

Thank you for this, I needed a little reminiscing, spent half my life in that fun house xD

Good old fashioned fun! I'm disappointed that I never got the chance to visit this park.

Memories of growing up. Remember always going to the fun house and nearly always winning on the spinning wheel, remember mum was having a brew upstairs and Jimmy nail 'crocodile shoes' was playing

I see people I know and think I was there that day. Only Human Roulette Wheel I had the chance to ride. A grand day out!

Before river caves was turned into "Lost Dinosaurs Of Sahara", it used to run on its original lighting system by having a light to turn on to view a stunt when a boat passes through.

just like to say R.I.P to pleasureland southport sadly last night the river caves which has been standing for 2 years untouched burnt down to the ground at 8pm yesterday, it has been derlict since. thanks for the video

Thanks very much for this superb footage! I'm very happy that someone has filmed the river caves, fun house and Cyclone. I had my 13th Birthday party in the fun house Southport. I fought to save this park from destruction (google or search on youtube 'granada tv cyclone' you will see our protests and demos to try and save the rides and parks. I absolutely adored the river caves and my heart broke when it was burnt down, How on earth did they get away with knocking down the cyclone in such a disgraceful way?

Loved this old park and its classic Cyclone; never got to ride those trains though! True wanton destruction of this iconic park; just left to gradually burn down year on year sadly. It's certainly true; you never miss what you have until it's gone. If only we had that time machine now and the foresight, I'd have taken quite a few more rides there, especially the Cyclone. I also joined the Cyclone Campaign to save it but, alas, they finally got their wicked way. Hope the fun can return again.

do any southport people out there, do you agree it was alot better there than it is now

I worked at pleasureland in school holidays for five years. Especially in the funhouse

wish the cyclone was still there my late grand perants went on the cyclone whn it was brand new, most of my family including myself went on the cyclone many times

Ride operator back in 89- 90s on haunted swing. Southport was better back then it seems
