I just got mine back from Ciment and I couldn't be happier! Sooooo glad I trusted these guys to do it right...just looking at all the folds in that cardboard...good grief LOL :D Keep up the good work, guys (and gals)!
I could watch your videos all day! Fascinating processes involved. I was wondering about your steam box, if you could share where you bought it from or by whom you got it made; and if its similar to the steam box used in bending wood so that -as a last resort- I can try to get it custom made. Thank you for sharing your craft!
Hi Hanon. it's just a water tank at the bottom with an immersion heater element in. The element heats the water to 100 degrees C and fills the cabinet.
What an amazing skill! I learned of you from Kim Davies video and am completely enamored! I’ve fallen down a rabbit hole and am watching all of your videos now. Is the black backing a woven cotton fusible interfacing or a specialty backing that you’ve had made?
@@cimentpleating5672 That is still an arduous process, considering how easy it would be to mimic the look. It's wonderful to see craftsmanship is still alive.
@@cimentpleating5672 May I ask how often the cardboard molds are remade or how long they last?? Absolutely fascinating. I know things have lightened up a bit down South with Covid restrictions, but do you do any tours of your facility? I don't get to London often but I'd love to stop by when I next go...
