Love how you shared the different processes here. Don't want to high-jack your vlog, but I'm going to give a little plug to the Plein Air Convention and Expo - 1000 artists painting together outdoors in April in Santa Fe!
I really enjoyed this video, Cesar. I especially liked your comments about exercising your mind and even the part about not finding a place to paint but rather making the place interesting. I struggle with location because I am not inspired where I live. Even though, there is beauty all around me. Great video!
Excellent, I loved all of your three responses. Of course the subject matter is close to my hrart. Have followed Dan Spricks work for years. I love your spirit Cesar. The 3 of you like the old impressionists out together. Yet painting like and Canaletto in Venice. Superb!!!!
Great paintings guys! This looks like Oleta Park. I ride my mountain bike down there and thought of painting there many times. I will have to put it into action now. Thanks so much for all your inspiration!
Loved it, thank you for showing the three ways that different people interpret the same scene. Was very eye opening. Thank you for your dedication to this channel, I'm learning a lot!
Thanks for sharing your Plein air painting day with us. So great to hear your comments and ideas about art. Its a real nice experience. Gracias por el dia y video. Bendiciones.
Really enjoying your videos here Cesar! Your training shows through. I like what you said about just being honest and painting what you see, using your way you have ...your individuality will come through with having to force it. So true!
Really enjoyed the 3 different approaches, learned a lot. Although the biggest surprise was watching how you produced the straight lines. here all along I thought master artist wouldn't ever use a straight edge, I thought only amateurs like myself were allowed to do that ; )
Great Video Cesar! I really like the use of the cane for those straight edges. I’m gonna have to remember that when I’m painting buildings Plein Air. Dennis
César! Este video me resultó súper útil, creo que ahora que lo acabe de ver siento realmente ganas de aprender y comprender a fondo los conceptos fundamentales a través del dibujo.
Now I'm inspired a lot! But I can't buy oil paints right now hopefully I'll get more commissions charcoal portraits so I can save money to buy. You really inspire me a lot!
I noticed the Bob Ross T- Shirt as well. Very fun video to watch. And by the way these guys may have been doing Plein Air longer that you Cesar but I liked you end result the best.
You just happen to be friends with Daniel Sprick? I love his work. Loved this video, thanks for sharing. Can I join you when I am in Miami for en plein air painting too?
Cesar if you ever want to go find some good Plein Air Painting spots. Look no further than hitting up Australia for a holiday. I've done most painting of mine from street sketches with pastel, and more explicitly the mountains and the cities. The yellow plains, the dusty yet green Bush, and the red soil of The Outback. While the small towns are humble, the major cities are bustling metropolises sitting on the shore where streets upon streets of wooden houses line the treacherous hillsides almost absentmindedly, if not gracefully. Come check this place out if you wanna get some of the best sunsets in the world. Cheers..
These are tough scenes to paint when you have all that water in the foreground. For me anyway, not for you, you’re awesome. I’m always unhappy with the results, I realized the problem lies within the composition. Nothing to carry the painting with the giant shape of water. You did an awesome job. I love the look of having your burnt umber under painting peeking through.
What I could notice is all 3 have different color palette... in video it is difficult to understand which one is close. Or we forget that and see it as an individual expression. What is your opinion on this? All can reply.
Hey, Cesar, really enjoyed the video. I have a question, doesn't the underpainting layer of burnt umber mix with the blue that you're putting on top of it? Or you leave it a bit to dry? Thanks again.
I like the video, as always but that is some dodgey teenager music. The music you picked in previous videos was much better. Sorry for the criticism but someone had to tell you.
So funny...I was watching this video and my son, who's 14 asked what are you watching and I told to him "come look at some dudes painting down in Florida, it's really cool". He came and sat and watched the whole thing. I thought the music, even with its corny little drum machine rolls, was perfect for this demonstration video.
