I really appreciated this series and learned a lot, especially about fixing mistakes. Paul's confident, but low-key approach is very easy to tune in to. I also liked his value study over the main painting.
I did too, great idea, but his brush drove me crazy. Why not use a good squirrel or kolinsky that would have made mark making and washes that much easier. Just my opinion.
I enjoyed watching this video and once again was reminded to go with a value sketch before one starts on the main sheet of paper. I have never before been shown to use the value sketch in a progressive manner. I have always been taught to do it completely first, then start on the final painting. Therefore, I have learned two things from this work. Thank you for that. I liked the outcome and will look forward to seeing what else you will present. Have a Happy and Safe New Year.
