Ploughs, 70s, RHTTs and Intermodals at Carlisle. 05 Dec 23
Over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd December central and southern Cumbria were hit by heavy snow causing chaos on the roads and Furness line. On 4th December DRS were asked to run the independent snowploughs down to BArrow in Furness. In fact they were following a Class 37 which was proving the route. In the event the ploughs ran no further than Sellafield. We see them in the darkness passing through Carlisle station on their return to Kingmoor TMD.
Colas had to send a Class 70 to Carlisle YArd to take the Logs to Chirk. Presumably there were problems with 70812, the usual loco. We also see another two 70s on other duties.
The RHTT trains were running as were the Intermodals.
