This is a short walking tour of Plovdiv Bulgaria, walking on the central
park and the main pedestrian and shopping street with a final destination
of the ancient amphitheater built during roman times. Plovdiv is a very
old city, its origins dating from Thracian and pre-historic times. Roman ruins
are abundant throughout the city. The city is a mosaic of Roman, Old and
New Bulgarian and Ottoman heritage. Plovdiv is divided by the river Maritsa
in north and south and is situated on 5 hills or 'tepes' from Turkish.
