Do you want to live abroad as an Expat or Nomad? Are you looking for affordable and viable options? We are exploring the world to see what it's like to live in a country, and also discover if Residency is an option.
We visited with an attorney in Veliko Tarnovo Bulgaria to discover if this Balkan country is an option for you, so if you're a digital nomad, a retiree or thinking of retiring abroad we did this video with you in mind. We needed to edit the video for time and to eliminate redundancy, if there are any questions regarding the information provided please contact Dimitar Dimitrov:

We began our retirement in March of 2020 with the intent to travel the world, spending 1-3 months in a country or location. We want to see what it's like to live there and not simply visit, and we want to share these experiences and the costs with whoever wishes to follow along.
If your looking for a place in Europe to live or retire Bulgaria may be an option, stay tuned and follow along.
Here is the Selfie Stick used by Warren: amzn.to/3txLsui

Julie and I retired early not by luck but by planning.
One of our spokes to our wheel for savings, and now an income stream
is Fundrise. Basically we are invested in many apartment complexes around the country.
We get a portion of the rents in the form of dividends, and growth in value with the appreciation
of the properties. We currently have selected an income REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust)
which historically pays between 7.5% - 9% annually in dividends. You can chose a balanced REIT which has a split between appreciation and dividends or a REIT where it's focused on appreciation and not dividends.
Check it out to see if it's a fit for your savings, or retirement strategy. Feel free to share this with those you feel may benefit from this program.

Are you still in Bulgaria ? If you are still here go to the nearest pharmacy and get a box Analgin or Benalgin. It's the most widely used drug for headaches and migraines in Bulgaria since ages and it simply works. It's OTC also. There are many drugs that simply work being sold for cents in Bulgaria compared to the US where everything is banned, expensive or with prescription. Bulgaria also has always been the largest pharmaceutical industry in the Balkans.

Hi Warren and Julie this city is one of my choices to purchase a condo in..... I am so glad I found your RU-vid channel I have been traveling the world all over Asia, South America, Central America looking for a place for a retirement country and home so you have provided me and other viewer great usable content regarding retirement in the Balkan’s..... I really didn’t think of Bulgaria as a great retirement country until I watched your videos on your Balkan adventures; what I really like about Bulgaria is its European charm and also having low cost of living compared to Canada and The United States....like you have stated in this video costs are low in Bulgaria...thanks again....j

Wife and I are retired and living in Plovdiv. We like it a lot. We live just around the corner from the pedestrian street. As you say, food expenses are about 60% of US prices. That goes for utilities too. I pay 20BGN per month for 50 GBPS wifi. 16BGN to the apartment company for grounds maint.

@@maximhar nope it was not a typical salon... and it was actually a really bad hairdresser.... dont speak about things you dont understand. Just because it is near the center doesnt make it good. We have amazing hairdressers and salons... 20 lev is too much for a male haircut in Bulgaria
@maximhar
@maximhar 3 года назад
@@dayanbalevski4446 I didn't say that being in the center makes it good, I said it makes it expensive. Rent in the centre is higher, which means more overhead, and you also get a lot of tourists so obviously you will charge more. Just like restaurants in the centre may not necessarily be good, but will certainly be more expensive than their counterparts in the outskirts of town.

God loves you so much that He sent His Holy Son Jesus from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins, and to be put into a tomb 3 days and rise from the dead the third day, and He (Jesus) went back up to heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent.

Why call immigrants expats?
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 3 года назад
We get this question on occasion, but normally on our Ecuador videos. Expats can be any nationality living legally in a foreign country, and are not seeking citizenship. Immigrants are typically setting in to a new country long term and commonly seek citizenship. You can be a Mexican Expat in the US, most Expat communities are made up of many nationalities. Often Expats seek out other Expats on Facebook Groups in cities around the world, for friendship and a sense of community. The local population often has family and life long friendships established so it may be hard for Expats to break in to these established relationship circles, but meeting other foreigners is typically quite easy. This is how I perceive most Expats view the situation. We occasionally get people believing it’s a racist thing, but Expats can be white, brown, black, Indian, Chinese, European, Latino etc.
@im7618
@im7618 3 года назад
@@WarrenJulieTravel your answer is hilarious. The expats you talk about are economic migrants who can’t afford the lifestyle in their own countries and choose somewhere cheap to be better off. The expats you describe arrived to a new country with no intention of understanding its people or culture so they seek others like themselves (much like the dreaded immigrants who stay in their ghettos). An expat or expatriate is simply defined as a person who lives outside their native country - permanently or not. An expat and an immigrant walk into a bar. How do you tell them apart? One’s usually white and rich and the other isn’t.
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 3 года назад
@@im7618 if you already have a set opinion that is intended to be negative don’t ask. Your opinion on expats economics is false, many may be looking for a lower cost of living on retirement, but many are wealthy, some work as nomads, some are business owners. We had lunch with Turkish Expats today setting up an LLC in Montenegro, You obviously are not a traveler, or looking to live outside your home country, please troll elsewhere to spread your racist opinions.

Every country has hidden problems. Some people just love to criticize and nitpicking every single little thing. About the racism part; you will find it everywhere in he world. Bulgaria never enslaved any country unlike your perfectly "rich and civilized" west, so people can be curious about other people of color coming into the country as Bulgaria is a fairly ethnically and racially homogeneous society.
