Im using a Polaris Sportsman 850 Ultimate Trail to polw the snow from my driveway. It is shot all hand held by a novice! Still working on the bugs and learning new video software. I hope you enjoy the video.
I appreciate this boss, I'm new to ATVs and snow plowing and I think the 850 is just what I need unless I can get a 1000 for cheap. We had our first rough winter and really need a plow system. Thanks for your perspective!
I got the gloss chalk 850. A very nice machine. I bought a 60" plow for mine and we haven't gotten enough snow to use it. I do really like how the plow adapts to the wheeler. Polaris for years has been the best looking and keeps getting better IMO.
I had a similar drive way ,eventually I cleared all the stumps and rocks. With better going you will be able to go faster thus slinging the snow back further.Nice atv
Flip the sheer pin , I took the long eye bolt out and put a short one in with a pully block , then I put a short hook strap on the nerf bar , yes , take the winch thriugh the block and snap the hook strap , one a lot more room , two you wont break the cable like I have many times .
I seen another video where the guy cut a slit in a pvc pipe the length of the plow for using on grass and gravel driveway. Ive never tired it but it may be something to consider. Good video
850 is a good size machine. I have a Suzuki 500 with a Boss hydraulic plow. I think you would like the Boss plow and your machine could handle the V plow Boss makes.
@@bravo1xrayoutdoors625 I’m 61 and I got a Boss straight plow 5 years ago. I had been using a manual lift plow for several years. I don’t have a winch on my atv It’s pretty nice being able to angle and move the plow up and down without getting off the atv. Your 850 could plow very deep snow with a V plow but my 500 didn’t meet the specifications for a V plow. I think I spent $3,000 and I think the V plow was a thousand more back then.
I will defiantly will be looking into a better set up once its time to replace it. Where I live now does not require too much plowing so it might be a little while! Thanks for the comment!! @@calvinreichelderfer7989
How do you like your 850 So far? I just ordered one yesterday and i currently have a 570 eps. Also next time just flip your shear pin over you can use the same pin twice. Dosnt hurt to keep a spare on hand too.
I really do like it! It has all the power I need to ride all over the mountains of Colorado and push the snow we get! I mention the shear pin in the part 2 of my plowing videos. Thanks for the comment!
Nice, does it have enough power? How is the suspension? How is the realibilty? Which parts would you upgrade? Is it much lighter than a 1000ccm? Alsow can u compare it to other brands Canam, cfmoto?
Thanks for the comment! I'm 270lbs and the plow weighs about 100lbs. I have the suspension on the front on the second to most stiff setting and the 850 handles with out issue. There is more then enough power to plow up to 8" or so at a elevation of 9600' up hill. I have had a need for any upgrades yet. I've done a few "MODS" but nothing big. Heated hand grips, rear work light, front mounted light bar that's about it. I have about 700 miles on it now and so far so good. I just keep the wheel bearings lubed, change the oils and Check the air filter. I just completed a preseason service and did a full fluid change, plugs, air filter and pulled the cover on the belt. Belt still looked new so I just blew out the area and put it back together. The only real comparison that I have is my buddy has a Honda Rubicon 520. Both are great quads. He does not plow with his but it has gone everywhere that I have. We are not aggressive riders but have done some really fun trails and have been all over the Colorado mountains. 73
