Among my favorite childhood memories is that of my grandfather teaching me to plow with his Ford 8N and a two bottom plow. I’d give anything to go back in time and do that again.
I grew up driving a 4230, it was my cultivator tractor in the summer when I was a kid. My dad had it and two 4430s. That 4230 was a fun little tractor to drive.
Nice video. My grandfather had a 4230 and he pulled a 5/16 International plow with it. A 4230 isn’t really enough tractor for a 5-bottom plow in tough conditions.
I’m a Massey man to! Grew up on 2 165’s diesel, a 175 diesel, and 2 1100s I love them Massey Fergusons with a Perkins can’t beat em! And they are all running and still farming to this day
Aa bump up to a bigger plow, pulled three bottoms behind a 50 hp, should've started in the middle, be easier to level the field when you disc it, and when yo start in the middle and disc it you can double disc and get a better cover up of the crop material
We traded a real stong 4020 for a 4230. It wouldn’t pull the 5/16 plow. We traded for a 4 /16 and it would pull it fine. The quad range just robbed too much power
