In my opinion Li-Po batteries with supercapacitors in knots, organised in optimal binary tree gives good performance abilities with low weight and price.

Only 20 mile battery range?!?!? What carmaker in their right mind would try to market that kind of vehicle? If I were ZF, I would sell the system without the batteries and let the carmaker supply the batteries. Knowing ZF like I know ZF, they probably make supplying ZF batteries mandatory.
