I have Plaits, and have been considering a Brains for back-up and additional percussion options. This looks much more feature-rich, and would therefore be a better option- depending on price, and the fact that I would also need a Pallete as I don’t have a 1U row. Great demo- thanks.
Hi Tom Nice description of this module which covers a lot of ground, so much potential, mind you I have Brains and MF so might just have to do work rounds to get near this ROV Looking forward to more of your Tutorials so Noice ly presented Thank you👍🆒🎶🌟🌟
got Ro'ved. It is a great module but not just a clone - I have og plaits and there are differences, aside from the form factor and clickable knobs - fw 1.1 as shown here greatly expands modulation possibilities. However, you cannot upgrade Roved to 1.2 without loosing this extra set of features - so if you are set on orange models, all these alternative features will not work, as Plum hasn't updated plaits 1.2 code to fit the Rov'ed hardware - it is amazing 1 u though, and it is very cool as shown in the video.
There isn’t a custom version of it available for RO’VED yet (to make use of the extra controls) but it might be possible to install it anyway I think… Keep an eye on this thread, there’s some discussion about the firmware at the bottom: modwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=262388
You can do it I think, and I believe it works fine, it’s just not optimised for the hardware changes. (I haven’t tried it as I still have an OG Plaits so I run the new firmware on that)
@@TomChurchill Cool, thanks! I still have the original Plaits too. The Apex X is taking most of the space in my 1U row, so the RO'VED will have to wait!
