I can't believe the size of the leaves on your fig trees. . .and the plums! They look like jewels decorating the tree branches.

Yes both fig trees are growing well - I wish both would have fruit though! Never mind there’s plenty of figs to come. And yes those plums decorate the tree beautifully ☺️

It shows how much weight is in the fruit when the branches lift. The time for preserving has really started =-) Love your harvests. =-) Take care.

It has started - 17kg of plums tucked away in the freezer for future processing 👍👍

01:05. Birdsfoot trefoil!! A wonderful but dainty legume. My goats love it when it's flowering. It needs long grass stalks to grow up, and a marshy wet environment.

@@huttonsvalleypermaculture I think the other one is "Bistorta officinalis" aka Polygonum+bistorta aka Persicaria bistorta or a relative of it. According to Stephen Barstow (Around the world in 80 plants) and PFAF the roots, leaves and seeds are edible.

Plums are so pretty . What a beautiful harvest, I'm glad only a few were damaged. I don't think I've had plum sorbet . I got given a few kg of plums this week and I already have some plum sauce , jam etc so sorbet and upside down plum cake might be my plan now. Thanks lovely ❤❤

I wiz the sorbet up in the thermomix - frozen fruit, sugar and egg white - it’s in Jo Wittons quirky cooking cook book! I haven’t tried plum but it should taste amazing!

Oh I’m not the only one - I keep crossing my fingers with the pomegranate - maybe size, maybe weather - I’m running out of excuses for it! 😆

I just love that tree Linda ❤ i've never seen satsuma so red, i wonder if its a temperature thing? Satsuma is the best in my opinion. Makes a fabulous bbq type sauce for steak. I was lucky enough to be gifted some this week and i have "cheeked' them all for the freezer and stewed the parts with stones and got a jar of goodness for my greek yoghurt. Cant wait to see your results.

The bbq sauce sounds great - may have to make some of that! I’m saving the kernels to germinate new trees from to fermented them a little to remove the flesh and dried them out. Will bury in soil somewhere before winter & hopefully come spring - baby trees!!

I bet it's beneficial for the livestock to munch on the olive tree. probably beneficial for their digestive systems.
@huttonsvalleypermaculture
@huttonsvalleypermaculture 5 месяцев назад
Yes it probably is - they do seem to be quite selective with the trees they munch on when they get out and about!
