This is a great video...well worth the time to watch. He explains each step of installation as well as the purpose for each pipe/fitting/gasket/line as he demonstrates. He shows how to use all tools for cutting, crimping, and sealing/soldering. He also gives helpful tips and cautions as well as testing for leaks at critical steps. As a licensed plumber few things for those of you wanting to try it yourself. 1) from what I can tell that 1 1/2 vent coming off by the vanity is for the toilet... that's a no no. It can not be less then 2" 2) medium black abs glue not only looks better but isn't cpvc glue... 3) they make great pipe cutters for abs pipe that are easier to use and can give you a cleaner edge. 4) ALWAYS PUT A DROP CLOTH IN YOUR TUB... common sense 5) most tubs require a mortar bed or a ledger (2×4 that holds up the side and helps with rocking)...rtfi... read the fucking instructions 6) ALWAYS remove your shower cartridge when you solder 7) don't run the risk of breaking your tub drain with pliers...go to home depot and get a tub drain tool 8) use either plumbers putty or Teflon tape for your tub drain... No leaks. 9) you're tub spout can not be more then 4" above the tub rim... code and all. That's all you get ya heathens

always take out the cartridge before soldering it takes 3 seconds you will ruin the seals and its a good idea to make sure they are lubed with plumbers grease it makes turning it off and on simpler (just a tip) you can use Vaseline if you don't have plumbers grease just noticed the clean out is hidden in the wall with no access panel these must be accessible

I am a professional Plumber with years of experience. I have installed hundreds of valves If you know what you are doing and control your heat you won't damage the cartridge. Another trick is to wrap the valve with a wet rag. Of course, removing the cartridge isn't a bad idea if your nervous, always be careful to make sure you don't lose any parts (washers, O-Rings etc.) or damage them when you re-install. Thanks for the video, I thought I would defend you on the soldering with the cartridge left in. LOL!

I am working on expanding my knowledge in all the fields, as I want to ge a handyman. I enjoy it. I have been building cellular towers for 25 years, it is getting hard for me to be in sub zero temperatures for 10 hours a day at upwards of 350' so, I'm trying to expand my knowledge. I own a rental Duplex and I do all the maintenance myself so I know a good bit and have been involved in construction since I was 8 years old so, Its in my blood to fix things and make people happy. But I love to learn MORE because I can pick up tips and tricks to save me time and money. And deliver a more quality product. I'm guessing that you are Canadian? Atleast from what I see on that vapor barrier on the inside of the walls and when you called it a "washroom" in one of your vids haha..My wife is Canadian (Vancouver B.C.) and I remodeled her house and I hadn't seen vapor barrier on the inside before. Maybe I'm wrong IDK. I just want you to know, I really appreciate the way you do your videos and you cover every step so detailed. I recognize how painstakingly difficult that can be. Just know you are helping so many people with your sacrifice of time and we appreciate you... SUBSCRIBED and 🔔

Great videos. Bit of advice, when soldering, do not heat the pipe. Heat the fitting. This is what draws the solder into the fitting. If you put flame on the pipe you run a good chance of the fitting not soldering. Also, thank you for not putting a wet tag on the fresh solder. As many people do this to cool it off quickly. This can cause the solder to crack and leak.
