It’s amazing what bodges you find. Whoever bodged those pipes in the floor probably ever dreamt they would be exposed one day, let alone to thousands of subscribers 😅
Thanks for the support as always Darren, I can never understand why people bodge stuff like this really, drains is one of those things that can cause you massive problems, smells never go away, a call back on a job like this would be expensive all for saving a few quid on a fitting
Thanks for the support as always John, they always start out a mess, hopefully it should look nice when we get it all sorted, it's always nice to help other trades out
Thanks for watching as always Simon, I think this sort of install will become the new standard, individual toilets rather than having cubicles off a large room, hopefully it should reduce the amount of vandalism, bullying and vaping
Good fix on the waste. We are the opposite to you we very rarely use solvent waste. All pushfit here in N.Ireland.Though do keep an odd bit of solvent weld in the van.
Thanks for the support as always John, it's interesting how much things can vary in different areas, I'm sure there must be other things that are regional in plumbing
Looked good when you got it in Tom, that wall looked like it was a pain to get out, barrow man was a good call👍🚽🥵take care look forward to progress as usual.
Thanks for the support as always Peter, the only problem with being the barrow man was the distance to the skip, I also needed a mile run up to get over the plank into the skip
Good one Tom. Not surprised that firdt one stunk😂. I'm not a big fan of flexis either, they're overused shall we say. Toilet jobs look interesting, they've done a similar job in my daughters school with the cubicles coming off the corridors.
Thanks for the support as always mate, flexis do have there place but like you say are overused, I can bend a bit of pipe onto a soldered tap connector, it might take me a couple of extra minutes but it also helps secure the tap
Try ur best n flexi n mastic the rest. N screw bungs.....only joking. Great content. Love the fact its no noncense get the job done. And none of that cheesy cockney humour by that plumberparts geezer.
wow wonder if that dangling a pipe into an open 4" waste pipe was done by the same person that did that same thing in my house under one of the showers, we always had problems with sewer smells from the day we moved in that we couldn't solve, As there was no access to under the shower tray, we found it when we refurbished the room. It's also a nice open door for Rats to get in too, all for the sake of a few quid on a bung.
It's terrible what people do, I see it so much in my job where people can't be bothered to go and get a fitting to do the job right, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night, thanks for watching as always Tony 👍
@@PlumbLikeTom Shower tray fitting was a sight to behold, Tbh it was obvious the house had been owned by a DIY bodge merchant when we viewed it, As we were planning to do a major refurbishment and the price reflected it we weren't too bothered. But the tray was one of those old solid porcelain 6" deep trays, must have weighed about 60kg they had fitted it into a corner and built a 2 course wall for the two open sides to sit on, but hadn't bothered to do anything to support the tray where it met the wall, god knows how it managed to stay in place with two sides unsupported. Maybe it was the numerous Rats nests underneath the tray, The Rats had chewed through into the cavity and dragged insulation from the loft to make the nests. The other classic was running the whole central heating for a large 4 bed house of 15mm feed and return.
Definitely not asbestos, we had it all tested, they even go as far as chopping holes in the floors and walls to make sure there was none hiding, thanks for watching as always 👍
Hi Tom, looks like another interesting job there and yes that soil pipe was a bodge job, unbelievable, no wonder it smells. I’m looking forward to the next film in this series, another great film thank you, take care. 👍👍👍
I thought that flexis were great until I heard that they should be changed every ten years. Incidentally, flexis are popular in the US and they don't seem to have any problems with them there. Not sure why.
They do have there place and I have used them in the past, most monoblock taps come with them so you don't really have much choice but to fit them, I find with single taps as soon as the taps becomes loose it starts to twist on the flexi causing this problem, I always tend to hard pipe if at all possible, thanks for watching as always 👍
Thanks for watching as always mate, we always get a full survey done on these jobs, I've had one recently where something had been tested and no asbestos was found, I wasn't happy, it was re-tested by a different company and it was asbestos, it just goes to show you can't always trust these things
More than likely, previous owners of my current house plumbed a shower waste in like this and it was an open door for Rats, We solved it initially with a Rat guard in the access chamber after blocking off the other possible entrance points didn't stop the occasional infiltration. puzzle of how they were getting in was finally solved when we uncovered the bodge.
