Fitted alot of wall hung pans. For me geberit ones are the best. Usually fit all the connectors that come from the 4 inch. Very rarely you get a problem

I feel for you Mark, I fitted one of those toilets, an eBay special from China about 5 years ago. Same problem couldn’t stop it from leaking, called my brother-in-law over (plumber), he spotted the same as you cracks inside, nightmare. Great content again Mark, thank you.

Nice belt and braces job on the urinal cistern with 4 beads of silicone. Reminds me of that saying. Dont worry the guys onsite will sort that out.

That bottle trap on the urinal will smell lovely in no time at all. The crystal formations are horrendous. 🤢 Well done on fixing leaks - it's always a gutting moment when the drip drip starts.

Great vid this Mark . I try to avoid wall hang pans as they're literally a pain in the arse. When i have to do them im like silicone bob which isn't ideal . but it's so hard to source the leak. you identified the leak for sure sometimes the moulding fails. Well done fella.

Should have a t fitting with cleaning eye instead of bottom elbow for the urinal for future blockages

We do a lot of work in pubs on urinal systems,we bin rubber washers that come with Syphons(they just splay when tightening them) fit a clear poly washer,they about 50 wraps of ptfe so you have to push bung of ptfe through hole in cistern,silicone over ptfe then tighten,same with waste fitting.Youd think for that wall hung pan,the joiner could of cut one of those side panels to height of pan for easy access and to check for leaks,no one is really gonna see panel at side of marble front. great video.👍

Hi Mark, what a job you had with that floating pan. Thanks for the info, if I ever get tangled up with one I now know to check the casting first. We used to wire urinals and sinks to little solenoids linked with the lighting PIR in commercial bathrooms. so once the room was empty, lights out, urinals flush, and water to sinks shut off, so nobody could leave a tap running. obviously that’s more high traffic, general public or schools where people would likely leave taps running etc

👍👍👍 MJ. You had me 😅😅😅 when you had to deal with that cistern leak. You put on the washers as usual, looking for it all to be done, then it leaks, and you were like me -'right, had it. Come we go with the silicone.' Then you not only siliconed it the once on the internal washer, but TWICE on them both, before AND after the washers. Doubled up on it, making damn sure it don't leak again!! The washers are there to guarantee a leak free installation, but sometimes they're not good enough, and you improvise. As for that toilet....from time you've got it linked up to screw it into place and yet it leaks nonetheless, having felt when the flush pipe inlet and the waste inlet have linked up well, and you've been in and out with it so often, it had to be a defect on it. And that Dyson Wash 'n' Blow....again, real world plumbing. We're meant to know everything on plumbing, but you've shown it can come at times when you get a job of little to no knowledge on part of it, and you have to read instructions, and there's a flaming book on it. If there are any Peter Perfects wanting to say they'd know it from 10mns into it, good luck.

I feel your pain regarding that toilet, i had a pan with a crack in exactly the same place, i must have used 4 different flush cones and even used silicone, all to no avail, it did my head right in. A simple toilet change that turned into a nightmare. Hope you get it sorted soon.

I always do wall hung pans on the Alca Frame absolutely love them such a clean look.

Just fitted 8 of those floating pans in a multi million pound house they are a pain. I found if you measure the grub screw to hit the back of that groove in the bullet it pulls the pan in nice and tight. Looking forward to the dyson tap see loads in the airport last week nice idea.

Uncle's got some other white stuff he uses to fill up big holes if you want to try an alternative 👀🤣 sorry couldn't help myself! 😅 great video mate 👊

I totally Agree with the cistern and siphon problem, I still don’t understand why the hole is so big on cistern, just doesn’t make sense!!!! Also them Knipex cutters I find Annoying, as you have to manually clamp it down on the pipe and when your in a tight spot it’s frustrating. I’ve just ordered the ox pro polyzip cutter 25-55mm as they clamp on pipe. Good video mate.

This is a good reason for not buying shit ceramics. Any savings must have been lost in his time - worse still, what if you get a call-out in the future as a result? Spend the extra and get Ideal Standard - if you have the choice! I couldn't be arsed with that floating BTW toilet - set up like that with no removable access - you'll never know for sure the connections are right. Unless that flush pipe is really well secured in advance, I would have thought it could flex when positioning the pan. Too many unknowns for me. I guess you just have to work with what you're given. Watching our Aussie brothers videos, the solvent glue over there comes with a "pom pom" shaped brush which must be much better at applying the glue when you are applying vertically - I wonder why our manufacturers haven't cottoned on to this? I have also found Cisternmisers to be poor when hot/cold supplies to basins are going through a TMV - they don't trigger the valve so you end up with the only trigger being the toilet fill.....consequently the loo ends up stinking due to lack of flushing of the urinal. The only solution I came up with was removing the CM valve and using a ball o fix with a dribble of water constantly coming out of it....certainly solved the stink issue though!

The curve on the underside of that high level cistern is a ringing bell. You need much thicker washers.

Hi Mate, I had the same issue with one I fitted. Was hans grohe frame and a Roca wc. I couldn't get it to seal naturally so in the end I bought a mcalpine wc coupler as these have 2 seals and that cured the problem. Issue was the glazing on the outlet was perfectly circular and the outlet pipe that came with the frame wasn't very pliable. My be of use to you in the future 👍

That toilet, though. It’s a bugger to fit, it’s going to be a bugger to clean underneath and in a few years’ time it’s going to be a bugger to change the flush valve. The fact that it’s knackered out of the box is just the cherry on the turd.

Not a good idea fitting the wall sockets under a sink next to water fittings that could start leaking. When I come across sockets under the sink with my customer I advise them to be removed or upgrade to waterproof wall sockets. The cistern gaskets could do with being upgraded to a plug type gasket to fill up that big space. Keep the videos coming Mark.

Mate had a similar problem today with a back to the wall close coupled toilet, the pan was so distorted that it wouldn’t seal on the pan connector. Had it in and out about 10 times until I realised it was the F@@king toilet 😂 so I feel your pain lol

Wall hung toilets are such a pain, i normally put a couple of towles in the void in the back on the pan and run off with the customers money if i to have to take it of more then once hides it for a couples of days.

Try a polythene washer under the rubber washer stops it twisting. Although the hole is way too big. I hope you have charged extra to fit that tap.

Not surprised that toilet cistern leaked with the size of that hole in the bottom. Got to do what you have to mark to seal it 👍👍. I bet you was well annoyed with that toilet .even worse when you can't see what's happening 😯

I was always taught to PTFE the threads of any fitting coming out of a sanitary unit, be it a sink waste or cistern, is that something you do? just curious.

I’ve had a few toilets lately that the mould where the pan con goes on was faulty so couldn’t get a normal pan con to hold water 🤷‍♂️

I feel like that cistern valve should have came with a chamfered rubber washer like the basin wastes

Any pan where the waste and flush cone is concealed are always a pain. I think its the faff of having to empty the pan everytime is the biggest pain in the arse

Bloody hell! What's the point in a floating pan that is only 1 inch off the floor!? They now have a dust trap that they can't clean... 'kin pointless!

Can I just ask why BT1/CT1 and not plumbers mate putty? Is it not more hassle to strip down and replace parts if they have had the life siliconed out of them?
