As Scott likes to remind people, he is actually quite risk averse. While this is certainly brave, there is also a large dose of risk management involved. And, of course, lots of testing and training. You can imagine that you have to completely trust the equipment and the support team if you're going to do this kind of work.
Funny you should mention this ... we will have at least one expert cave diver on our expedition. I don't know if he'll use it for exploring inside smaller caves, since the suits are tethered to the surface. However, in a macro sense, the entire Dean's Blue Hole is a very large cave, so ... yeah.
