A Samus beat the winner of the tournament in convincing fashion. With how few quality reps the character has nowadays I would consider that a good showing. Morsecode would be insane if he got a bit more consistent
All I can hope is that seeing this kind of performance from Plup will convince him to attend tournaments more often. He's so cracked at this game and his Sheik in particular is unlike any other.
He is Top 4 minimum in the world but picks Terraria over Melee 6 out of 7 days the week. Plup really is the Neymar of Melee but with less injuries and more Twitch plays Pokemon.

I don't hate Mang0 but goddamn the commentators were so biased for him. Calling game one "basically he should have won" no it was an extremely close game and plup clutched it out with a smart read
Unfortunate that mang0 and Hbox have become more so gatekeepers for this year. Both can only get to top 3 with favorable opponents and get stopped right when they are playing against a bracket demon. But i honestly think that we're at a point where the game doesn't rely on both of them so strongly anymore with Zain, Cody, Jmook, aMSa and moky carrying the game rn. Hope to see them take some majors again tho :>
Thats pretty much for Hbox , he beats Jmook but pretty much loses to everyone else For Mang0 however , it depends "how he feels" and if we are gonna see the good Top 8 Mang0 or the 17th Mang0 , and glad we saw the Top 8 Mang0
@@henryreturns1397 Hbox and mang0 beat the same old people with some differences like Jmook instead of Cody. Top 8 mang0 has only been Top 8 mang0 because of favorable draws like moky, Aklo and Cody that get him into Top 3 while Hbox concistently makes Top 8 until Cody, aMSa or Zain stop him. Both need to stop being lazy and demotivated if they want to keep up with the current top dogs.
There are so many great players nowadays, compared to when there were only 5 people with a realistic chance of winning. HBox and Mango are still fantastic players, but the community has finally caught up
If Mango didn't lose that first game I think he would've taken this all the way. Hard to say because Plup is no obviously no joke, and then he'd have to face Cody who is an absolute menace, but I think if game 1 went differently he would've taken the set and possibly had enough in the tank to win grands against Cody. Either way, amazing sets, shoutout to all players giving us some legendary Melee like we've never witnessed. Shoutout to Cody for winning big house 11.
