All my dresses become an empire waist line because of my boobs. 😔 They always make the larger sizes wider and not longer too, so sizing up doesn't really help.
@@MagicalSakuraArt omg this !! I'm actually on the other spectrum of the struggle, trying to find non childish fitting clothes is hard for me but I also have a long ahh torso, and sometimes I see from xxs to like S sometimes even M, everything is just wider and not really longer
@@Evilys it's a Universal problem. Everything is just too short. I'm tall with a large bust, but the difference between 2xl and 3xl is negligible when it comes to length. Like even if I was fatter my fat doesn't grow out of my sides/under my armpits of my body.
I wanna know who designed some of these things that have stoop the test of time and yet they are still being sold . That purplish shirt with the shiny dots for example
As someone with seven kids to feed, (and chase, and educate, and play with) it’s a rather impractical outfit. Unless it’s flu season and you’re all laying on the floor together watching TV
I bought a kaftan in malaysia and it's my new lounge wear... better what i did before which borrowing off my friends 70 year old Filipino mother hahhaa
The frustration is that for some reason floral with skull prints are really common but just not any other alt clothing. Torrid especially. It's like they throw some skulls on a floral sometimes to pretend to have any connection to when they used to be fat girl hot topic instead of essentially just business casual like they are now.
@@jenelle5331 I get that, even when trying it on, the print sometimes goes away with it. It’s like huh. But idk I guess this one specifically I was really into.
I used to be bigger at my biggest I was a size 12ish I was that size for about a year and I swear the amount of skulls on stuff is insane. Do they think every plus size girl is this alternative punk skulls girl?
Oh honey,Plus size 66 yr old here. These clothes hurt my eyes and my feelings. Shopping for spring/summer dresses hasn't been easy but I relate to this post. Love your content!
honestly I'm so confused as to who they are trying to market these clothes too, younger people don't want them because the styles are outdated, older people don't want them because the designs are too busy, who is the target market
@@Evibbles it confuses me so much as to why plus sized clothes arent just.. bigger sizes of all the other clothes they sell? i was in walmart recently and i noticed the plus size section looked exactly like this video while all the other clothes were super trendy and normal looking.
@@worblergworbler two reasons 1 straight sizing does not look good on plus size bodies so modifications are necessary to flatter the body the way straight sizing does (think skirts, a skirt on someone with a flat rear is going to cover more than someone with a rounded rear unless additional length is added in the larger sizes to accommodate), and 2 society has decided plus size people can not be fashionable, we must all look like the middle aged school receptionist that hates children
The last one could be styled (or tailored) into something stunning for sure - but I also say this not knowing if it’s a polyester blend (which is most likely :( )
Lmaooo this is too good!! The last dress reminds me so much of childhood.. My late grandma, mom, aunts, sister & cousins all wore it. We call them “baju kaftan” because of its material, or “baju kelawar” which literally translates to “bat shirt/dress” 🦇 where i’m from. Mostly they were passed down from Grandma’s collection
@@angussneef so you want to be ugly and let us know that you don't understand human physiology too? No one decides to be obese, and many plus sized people try endless diets and exercise routines in an effort to drop weight. No matter our size, we are people first. Maybe try some kindness?
David’s Bridal - go there and look at the special occasion and bridesmaids dresses. They usually have them in every size to try on. Then you can order it in any of the colors available. They also often have cash and carry dresses in all sizes. I did this for my plus size daughter throughout high school, then for college/sorority formals and she looked absolutely beautiful. It was a lifesaver. Wish you the best! ❤
There is a store that specializes in plus sized clothing and formal wear, I think they are in North Carolina. They have a RU-vid... The owner's tagline is "you've gotta be two something to do something". Not sure if they have an online presence, but might be worth checking, and failing that finding out what brands they sell and seeing if those are sold in your area to try on.
I remember when I was plus-size and regular shops didn't have my size. I was so sad I had to go to an actual plus-size shop... THEN I was super HAPPY because the plus-size shops have clothes that actually look VERY GOOD on plus-size ppl. Also: I personally really like the 'ugly print' and the 'skull dress' :D
@@MyTimelord11in my opinion, they look ugly and very timed. Like maybe in the early 2000s but it's been 20 years. I would hate to dress like a middle-aged women with 10 kids just because of my size. Of course, some people just think they look bad in certain things, but I don't really think insecurities will make your perception of fashion any different. Usually you would have body dysphoria. But still, i agree with the video, plus size is very ugly and very unoriginal. Maybe if it were cheaper, it wouldn't be so bad, but they are 2x the price of smaller clothes (that are actually in trend/look less old if that makes sense). In literally any plus size store, it's just full of office suits for the 2018s or random prints or styles.
Hehe. I had a shirt with one of those 'if you look at it for to long, you'll get a headache and start seeing tripple' prints, back in the 90s. My schoolmates *hated* it 💀. I really, genuinely love the dress with the bright, tropical flowers, though. I would totally wear that. The colors are to die for, imo.
Okay I kind of like the weird hypnotic print and, while the cut of the skull one wasn't super flattering, I have definitely seen clothes with a similar print that I really liked.
I LOVE your humour ! In a world where content creators copy ideas and rehash the same old stuff your skits are a shining light of authenticity and originality ❤
As a plus sized woman who also lived in a time before plus size clothes were even around in ANY store, growing up was just this amplified. Now it is just like whoever designed this item has NO idea how to design plus size/They CANNOT be plus sized at all! Great when better fashion such as curves in many shops came out for plus sizes but sometimes a mini skirt or crop top is something I CANNOT WEAR COMFORTABLY OR PROUDLY! And this portrayal is on point! 😂
I was hanging clothes at my work, and I was pretty excited to see a cute ruffley crop top and some frayed black cut offs. Its the exact clothes we would get in the teen section so I was pretty happy to see that we got in just a tiny bit of diversity.
That was a very nice thing to do. Throwback to when my mum made me wear clothes from when I was younger I had to rip to fit on me, especially underwear. I was 4-11.
Which ones? They all seem to have the prices jacked way up for low quality or the bigger sizes they're claiming to have are non US sizing and aren't actually plus sized, or they only carry up to a 3x.
@@jenelle5331 So far I’ve had luck with : Dia & Co Bad Moon Johnny Was Local Thrift stores/vintage pop ups for plus sized folks and local plus-sized boutiques
I remember when I used to work at Catherine's, there are a lot of things that have the potential to be good but just went a bit too much with some of the designs trying to make it stand out more. There is this one line of shirts that had little doily embroidery on the front it reminded me of the dresses Thelma wore in Mama's Family.
that’s so true mom is currently losing weight and she got down to an XL and she gets excited whenever I pick out a shirt for her and it’s actually cute ❤️❤️
This is so true. I remember wondering why everyone around my parents size wore similar shirts. Till i found out thats legit what you have to choose from
Omg, yes!!! I started wearing 'plus size" clothing last year and everything at shops or op shops speak "I've given up on my appearance, I want tons of fabric, and look at this print". Even though I was wearing US 16/18, i have a lovely figure and don't want to wear a smock. I wanted fiqure flattering
I hate shirts with anything on them so I just wear solid colors but it's really fat girl trauma from shopping. Like designers are trying to hide my rolls behind fucked up prints. Like my clothes are supposed to distract ppl from my fat ass 😂
Plus size women are absolutely beautiful! Women of all shapes and sizes are! Idk why people are always so negative towards plus size women. Yall are amazing! ❤
That patterned one screams teacher or office worker. And that skull dress looked amazing! All you need is the right jacket and combat boots and you would’ve killed it!
Or just keep it to yourself? Some people can struggle to lose weight for a variety of reasons, and it isn't a snap done process, it takes time. What are they supposed to wear in the meantime?
Do you have a cure for my disability that causes weight gain, a cure for the one that needs meds that cause weight gain and a cure for the one that makes exercise difficult
I know she complained about the first shirt, but that royal purple is her personal color tho! 💜 it brought her complexion and features out really well. She's a cool toned girlie
