Hi guys!
Today I made a plywood endgrain table. I used 3/4 inch baltic birch plywood and 2x4 lumber.
Gluing was so much work to do but I'm happy with the result.
Thank you for watching!

DEWALT 6.5 Amp Corded Jig Saw
SKILSAW 15 Amp 7-1/4 in Circular Saw
RIDGID 1/4" Impact 1/2" Drill Driver 18v Lithium Combo Set
IRWIN QUICK GRIP Clamps 6 in
1/2 in Pipe Clamps
RIDGID 4 Gal. 6.0-Peak HP Wet Dry Vac
BOSCH 2.25 HP Plunge Router
RYOBI 15AMP 10 in Sliding Compound Miter saw

Awesome job! I am impressed that you did not get tear out with routing the edges. I always do! Any tips?

I heard start from endgrain side is one solution. Tear out from endgrain side will be cleaned by the next long grain side cutting

Very nice! Could you tell us the thickness of plywood 3/4”? Love it, thank you for the demonstration.David

Thanks for your comment! And right it’s 3/4” plywood!

Love the design! How big was the table? And how many sheets of plywood did you have to use?
@namoothewoodprojects
@namoothewoodprojects 3 года назад
Thank you for your compliment! The tabletop size is L39.5 X W25 X H1 inches and I used a little less than one plywood sheet. I believe one sheet size was 60 X 60 inches and 3/4 inch thick birch plywood.

Nice. Reckon it can be done without a table saw? I only have a circular saw and mitre saw.
@namoothewoodprojects
@namoothewoodprojects 3 года назад
I reckon it is possible! But tools make life easier and save a lot of time! Every strips has to be same size and doing it with circular saw might be a lot of work.. but possible :)

Thanks. I just don’t have the space for a table saw so will have to make my circular saw work. Might get a Kreg Rip-Cut and see how that does it.

@@beatsntoons you're welcome! And yes you definitely need the kreg rip cut or diy simple circular saw jig for the same repeating cuts. And maybe a plane block for Flattening. Wish you luck! 🤞

You can make a simple table saw with a skill saw and a piece of plywood. Especially if you are cutting a lot of the same size materials and widths it’s easy because you don’t need much of a fancy fence setup. Good luck.

Awesome project, the result was really pretty. What kind of finish did you use?

Pretty ingenious and I enjoyed your video. Some thoughts. You're doing well with basic equipment. Good Job. I would have made the top thicker, at least 1.25 or more. Your finishing set up looks painful and awkward. Make a few stacking saw horses and get it up off the ground, and off the fence. You brush looks bad ... gosh. The base design is not well understood by me. Is there lateral supports or cross members? One more thing bro - paint your drywall before it goes all yellow on you Just get a nice high hide primer and lay it on thick. I built houses and always painted the dw, because the more you inhabit a space the harder it becomes later, and nothing looks worse than unpainted 20 year old drywall and for what? I subbed, have a look at mine too. Edit: that wood glue and sawdust, you could actually trowel the surface if it was thin enough. But god, get a putty knife, that was also painful lol.

Hi Fred, thanks for your opinion. It was a bit thicker but as I plan it down it got thinner especially when I worked with corded planer. I wish I made it a bit thicker though. And about the legs..yeah it didn't have lateral supports so it was unstable. And I added one after I uploaded video so it's more stable now. I'm renting this place so painting the drywall is not on me haha but still appreciate you for the advice because I wouldn't know if you didn't tell me and I will be painting drywall once I get my own! Also I have several putty knives but I just grabbed piece of wood near my hand 😂 Thanks for your feedbacks. I'll check out your channel!

No issues with running everything through your planer? I have been sanding the hell out of my glue ups right now and didn’t think the plywood would do well in the planer.

Planer was fine. No trar out much. But i made it too thin. If you’re going to make one, do at least 1.5” or 2” thicknesses. Mine was too thin and it warped after a year of using.

@namoothewoodprojects
@namoothewoodprojects 3 года назад
Thanks a lot! It depends on the table size and thickness. The one in the video took almost 80% of 3/4inch 60"x60" plywood sheet
