I'm considering the purchase of this same lathe so I'm looking forward to your next video. Thanks for what you've produced so far.

I am waiting for the 1340 GT that I ordered in December. It looks like you have another nice late in the background. Thanks for sharing. These tips should be useful in the coming weeks.

Good move, the forklift, it saved you a lot of time and stress lifting the lathe onto the cabinet, it looks great sat on top. Looking forward to watching your videos. Cheers Tony

My door hardware was the same, a little quick bending job fixed it. One cam of the three jaw chuck on mine needs adjusting but I haven’t gotten that far yet. I had to remove the headstock to get it light enough to get down into my basement so I need to re-align it. I purchased an MT3 headstock alignment bar to do that with.

Wow, I imagine it was still a beast moving it into a basement even with the headstock separated.

@@mdw66799 not just the headstock, everything came off right down to the bed. I made a steel lifting bar and it went very well with four of us.

@@robertpearson8798 That would have made a good video, moving your lathe downstairs. Did you film it or take any photo's? Cheers Tony

@@eyuptony I took a couple of pictures of the bed ready to be moved but I was too busy just getting it done to bother doing anything else.

I encountered one small problem with the lead screw direction knob. After turning it a few times with difficulty it finally stuck in one position and wouldn’t move. After some back and forth with PM we realized that there’s a detent on that knob that’s not in the manual. Upon removal we determined that one of the three divots for the detent ball was drilled too deep and was trapping the ball. They’re sending me a replacement.

Interesting. Mine has been difficult at times. Hasn’t gotten stuck yet. Thanks for the info. I will be keeping a closer eye on it.

@@mdw66799 If you decide to take it out you need to remove the detent through the side of the headstock (set screw, spring and two steel balls) and remove the spring clip on the inside of the gearbox. They suggested that I could fix it with some JB Weld and I’m going to try that but I’ll install the new one when it arrives. I wondered if anyone else had had this problem, perhaps to a lesser extent.

I just did my 10 hour oil change yesterday, way past the 10 hour mark. Opened up the top cover to check on all the gears. Everything looked good. Thank you for your comment. At least now I know how to access the knob on the inside if needed.
