Respected Sir, About 2 years back, I wrote a script for you for your Mann Ki Baat. I am not sure if it reached you sir. I want to share some suggestions and I have faith that only you can implement it. You are the only leader I have seen, apart from Vajpayee, who have been PM, but educated in India and looking at everything through the lens of being an Indian. None of your family members, can even think of benefiting from your office. That is how leaders should be. Vajpayee jee did not have the majority needed, else I am 100 % sure, he would have also done whatever you have executed. I am requesting you to explore the following also sir. I had also sent a ppt on this before to your office sir. 1. The constitution needs to be re-written. We cannot have old ways of doing this. The problems, threats and opportunities in 1940's are different from what it is today. I suggest you can organize a competition to all law schools in India to draft a constitution and send it to you. The law commission and a parliamentary panel can choose the best out of those and the country can debate on it. It should become a habit that when 75 % of the legislatures are born after the date of last constitution, we should agree to rewrite the constitution. It should become a habit sir. 2. The whole nation and its administration should function like a Toyota motor corporation. Absolute efficiency is the need of the hour. There should be a ratio of the money spent for each govt. based on the population as well on the land size. This ratio should never be crossed and it should only become better. 3. For every 100 households, there should be one representative. It could be through the post-office. Such a person should take care of everything in relation to the government. From delivering letters, connection to the revenue department, connection to the health system and everything. For a family - that person is the single point contact to get anything done from the govt. The whole country may need about 50 lakh people. Everything else could be dismantled and make everything as e-governance. 4. There should be only one elected people representative per district in this country. Let us assume we have 700 districts. All we need is 700 representatives. They should represent both the state as well as the center. At the district level, the District judge, The district police official, the district collector and the people representative are the governance people. We do not need so many tiers from panchayat to state to MPs for governance. This is highly inefficient. 5. Instead of having an upper house, we could have a five judge bench wherein, after any law is passed by the parliament, the nation has 100 days to send mails to the registrar. The registrar collates the points and places before the judge for discussion and arguments and based on the merit can send the law back to the parliament or suggest ways or pass it. That way, people and the civil society members have a forum to represent. 6. Any contract for public work should be at the district level and nothing below it. The work should be combined and tenders issued at the district level. Only then we get economies of scale and we can rate the companies based on the standard of work executed. Let the local contractors work as sub-contractors. 7. Recently the govt, dis-invested Air India after a lot of struggle.The Tata's will not appoint an IAS officer to head the company. They will appoint a professional Sir. Like that abandon all chairman's in all corporations and public institution. I understand that there are many aspirants in political parties who should be given posts. Let the posts not be created at the cost of professionalism sir. I loved when you said that the cost of dynasty politics is talent. Like that, the cost of political appointments are non professionalism in corporations and public institutions sir. These are some of thoughts. I sincerely wish, somebody brings this to your personal attention sir. Thank you for opportunity. Jai Hind. Mera Desh Mahaan.
