A populist also recognises a copper bottomed ocean going total prat when he sees one. Even more so if the prat keeps telling everyone " Did you know my dad was a toolmaker?"😂😂😂
Populism = Anti-Elitism, People-Centric Rhetoric, Us vs. Them Mentality, and Charismatic Leadership. Populism can also undermine democratic norms and institutions by promoting simplistic solutions to complex problems and fostering division. Sounds about right, Farage has nailed it.
Populism can be described as "snake oil" in a metaphorical sense when it involves oversimplified solutions and rhetoric that may not effectively address complex issues. Oversimplification: Offering easy answers to complex political, social, and economic problems. Empty Promises: Making grand promises that are unrealistic or unattainable. Exploitation of Discontent: Capitalizing on public dissatisfaction without providing substantive or sustainable solutions.
@@ony583Indeed, but the same can be said when the elite and metropolitan classes say nothing can be done, and only more islamo-globalism is the only direction possible.
@@imbonkers3629 why are assuming I support or believe anything Starmer says? All I did was highlight what populism is, and it clearly describes Farage, Brexit and Reform. You just can't handle the truth and want to attack the messenger, the other characteristic is "us and them mentality" which certainly describes you.
@@maccagrabme And me. Funny how Rupert Lowe is putting a lot of resources and energy into his local constituents. Wonder if the Liebour will do naff all. Every Labour near me is horrible. I can see this country becoming even more divided. Reform voters living in different areas to the wokes.
@@maccagrabmeYup. There is noise out there that our economy is tanking. When unemployment is high and interest rates rise. Then labour will be in great trouble.
Sadly the reality is this. Of the eligible voters on the electoral roll, 20% voted for this 'landslide' government. A landslide only because their predecessors were total rubbish and an antiquated electoral system that in Europe we share only with Belarus.
He should know, he's demolishing all us Brits paid for to alleviate the immigrant invasion problem....then right up to Scotland to muck up Scottish jobs and fossil fuel outlets.
Rubbish, they are not even a party, just a company, he can’t even see his own constituents, after 3 days he goes to USA where the money is, he is not worried about clacton at all.

@@ony583 Have you looked at the Covid and Post Office enquiries? The inescapable conclusion is that the "elite" who purport to understand these complex problems are elite only in the magnitude of their egos and are at least as ignorant and simplistic as Joe Average but are prepared to lie to cover their incompetence. These enquiries show the lack of "substantive or sustainable" solutions originating out of our two main parties. Perhaps it's time to let the populist have a go - they couldn't possibly be worse.
@@run2cat4run so how come independent countries can control their borders? also i thought the remainers said we can control our borders whether in or out the EU? was they lying old chap? only thing stopping control of borders is political will and spine , it could be done with simple policy
I notice we're allowed to fly the George Cross on the coast. I suppose it's just to let the wonderful new residents know that they're in the right place
Upticked but short answer is no. However their donations from ordinary Brits like me have all but dried up. Strange that their donations from shady philanthropaths has increased exponentially.
It isn't the French or EU authorities responsibility to protect UK sovereign borders, its the UK governments and UK parliaments responsibility. Use the United Nations Law of the Sea and turn the boats back before they enter UK territorial waters - "Article 33 Contiguous zone 1. In a zone contiguous to its territorial sea, described as the contiguous zone, the coastal State may exercise the control necessary to: (a) *prevent* infringement of its customs, fiscal, immigration or sanitary laws and regulations within its territory or territorial sea; (b) punish infringement of the above laws and regulations committed within its territory or territorial sea. 2. The contiguous zone may not extend beyond 24 nautical miles from the baselines from which the breadth of the territorial sea is measured."
If the UK agrees with the EU to take a certain number of migrants, it MUST be on the basis that if the boats keep coming (as they will) the agreed number, will be reduced by the number arriving illegally by boat.
Well if you mean Reform Starmer we prefer their policies everytime compared with your hate filled vitriol served up in the kings speech. You have already laid the foundations of a real housing crisis bar none, plus an employment crisis where nobody will be hired by the smaller company private sector., and Miliband has already become a hate figure in his zealotry and lunacy for Britain.. Plus all the facilities msupplied by the private Schools to the state system, which are vast, will now have to be paid for by the State otherwise y7ou will not have them for these children. You cannot have for free what is paid for out of taxed income twice. The CANT and ENVY zealots of the lefties.
I think the king should start thinking for himself and listening to the British people of his country instead of just sitting there like a lemon not really knowing or caring what he’s reading. 😡
When we had the late Queen we had a respected head of state. Now we have king sausage fingers who is a brainless wimp, he's not my King. William best take note and show some backbone and he best not follow his dippy father's footsteps and become a proper head of state. Otherwise more and more of us will say we want rid of the royal family.

I voted for Labour over 50 years but this time I went with reform. I will never vote Labour again until they return to being for the true working class.
Like everybody else I've been trying to understand Starmers political position, left, right, moderate? I've figured it out now, the absence of a personality is a clue, Starmer is a bureaucrat, he thinks he knows best and everyone else should do as he says.
Populism is the majority view of what the population wants. Or to phrase it differently, the popular view of the population. What Starmer has basically said is "You don't actually know what you want, we know what you want."
We should not be asked to take ANY migrants from France; as we are not part of the EU we are under no obligation to take any at all. It is safe for them in EU so there is no necessity for them to leave France.
War torn countries runaways get free acceptance into the UK and financed - yet looking at South Africa - where the light coloured race is in danger its not easy to get into the UK and they would be far better citizens for the UK???
GOD HELP THIS COUNTRY! Sunak was useless, the conservatives, lost their way long before he was chosen .. by them!! As for s Starmer he's going to be our biggest nightmare ever, Blair was bad enough, too full of his own importance & still is, but this guy ..... words fail me!
This is how politics has worked for some time now, they promise to stop the boats or stop something, but don’t tell what their complete policy is, which will legally make things just as bad or worse.
I predict that Starmer will grow increasingly unpopular as time passes and he makes us increasingly poorer and less free. He might then begin to understand basic English.
