PMDG 737-800 XBOX Universal Flight Tablet FIRST LOOK  

Hi Dobbo… yea, I’ve had one CTD too but I’ve since done a couple of flights and it’s worked smoothly. Fingers crossed for the AIRAC!! Also everything is set up nicely for the 777 now which looks great. Cheers for watching 👊

Hi… thanks for your question. You CAN fly with ATC on whilst using Simbrief but you’ll often find that it’ll route a completely different arrival to what you’re expecting! I tend to have at switched off as it’s generally pretty rubbish. I hope they can get something better implemented for MSFS 2024. Thanks for watching ✈️👍

Hi... thanks for your question. The theme preference you can toggle between Manual & Auto, although I need to investigate the auto option more to confirm the differences. Also I always fly with real weather on so the winds / weather are as accurate as they can be in the sim. If you fly without real weather it'll still calculate your descent well using the simbrief data. Cheers for watching.

Hi… you need to make sure you’ve updated the aircraft in your content manager. If you scroll down to the PMDG 737 there will be an update available. Do that and you’ll be golden. Thanks for watching 👍✈️

Hey, thanks for your question. The only way of importing a flight plan into the FMC is through Simbrief. It’s free and really easy to do, you just need to sign up with a username, add those details into the tablet then you can import directly into the FMC. You’ll still obviously need to input your SID & STAR manually but it will bring in everything else… all your way points, fuel, payload etc. Thanks for watching ✈️👊

Hi Austin… thanks for your question. You can request your Simbrief flight plan from the route page in the FMC, though not directly from the tablet. Then you still need to add your sids & stars manually as normal. Cheers for watching 👍✈️

@@seven3simmer I always make my flight plans thru simbreif then I request the flight plan and payload and fuel thru the FMC but when I’m at claiming my nose is pitched up and the trim is like 20% is that normal for a 737?

Hi David, once Simbrief is connected the flight plan syncs with the tablet map… but unfortunately the Xbox is a closed system and won’t allow the map to sync between the Navigraph app & tablet. Thanks for watching 👊

@@neilsimkin7556 ​​⁠hi… nope, the tablet is free to use as is Simbrief. The only subscription you would need is if you want to use Navigraph charts, then you can simply link your Navigraph account from within the tablet by scanning the QR code 👍

Hi, thanks for your question… yep all the variants have the UFT available, but you do need to enable it within the FMC settings as it’s set to off by default. Hope you enjoy the 737 whichever you go for, it’s a great aircraft. Thanks for watching ✈️👊

Hi Yousef… unfortunately the cockpit door still doesn’t open and I don’t think they’ll be adding that functionality now as they’re putting all the devs on to the upcoming 777… which will have an opening cockpit door. Thanks for your question and watching 👍✈️

Hi Pablo Unfortunately they couldn’t make the Xbox keyboard work with the tablet so you do need a physical keyboard plugged in to make it work. I’m sure they’ll figure it out in a future update but at the moment that’s the only way to make the tablet work on Xbox. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍✈️

@@seven3simmer thank you I appreciate you taking time out of your day to reply, I guess a keyboard will have to do, to be honest it’s a slight upgrade to the controller as it would help speed up the process of setting everything up 👍

Turn on the tablet option for “on screen keyboard”. The. When the Xbox one pops up just close it. The tablet has its own keyboard. You can use that.

Hi thanks for you comment… that sucks that you can’t get the tablet working. Since I’ve made this video PMDG released an update which seems to have broken the performance calculator & Simbrief integration, but hopefully this will get fixed soon. The rest of the features have been working absolutely fine. Not sure what you mean by not being able to touch auto pilot and how that affects the UFT but hope you get it sorted. Happy simming 👍✈️

Hi… once you’ve run the update, try restarting the sim. You then need to go into the PMDG settings within the FMC to turn it on as it’s off by default. You’ll find it on page 16 of the aircraft equipment menu. Happy simming 👊✈️

Hey… thanks for your question. Yep, the tablet is available in the 737-600. What I would say is you do need a navigraph subscription to get the most out of the tablet with access to all the charts etc. thanks for watching 👍✈️

@@seven3simmer im on xbox. I feel PMDG isnt worth it on xbox. They should be cheaper as its watered down on xbox vs PC.

@@seven3simmer I would like to note I played the PMDG 737 on FSX on the PC befor FS2020 came out. So far to be honest I am not liking FS2020 compared to FSX other than the graphics. I would like to know if I can have that same experience like that on Xbox with FS2020.

@@Cancel_hi Jordan, the PC & XBOX builds of the 737 are now exactly the same, although since the last update it’s worth noting the performance calculator & Simbrief import have broken which I’m sure will be fixed. I’ve never simmed on PC but in my opinion on XBOX the PMDG is by far the best aircraft in the sim.👍

@@seven3simmer Thank you for your quick reply. I am on Xbox fs20 now. And I'm trying to figure out which PMDG 737 I should get. I can't remember which one I had on the PC but I remember I was flying around the world and would land to get fuel it was fun. I kind of want to do it again but I really can't decide on the 600,700,800, or 900. Also I was trying to fly the Airbus 320 neo. And sadly to say I kept getting lost with no way to see where I'm at. FSX the old sim you could open the map and zoom in.

It looks fantastic but it’s still disappointing that we have to deal with out of date AIRAC

I agree@@Wilber913 fingers crossed they can sort the AIRAC because in my opinion it's by far the best plane in the sim. Thanks for your comment & watching.

I’ve only had one CTD in my testing. Try deleting your rolling cache & reboot the sim to see if that helps. Thanks for watching, hope it sorts itself.

Yep, I could'nt get it to work without black screens and CTD's I even removed all add-ons, switched off live traffic and live weather and still it crashed, gave up and switched it off.

That's a real shame, I've literally had only 1 CTD the entire time I've updated to the tablet build and that was on the first load in. Have you tried disabling your rolling cache? Hopefully you can get it working as it's a really great feature to have in the flight deck.
