The Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) is a scheme that provides scholarships to students from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh for pursuing higher studies outside the state. The scheme offers 5,000 fellowships each year, with 2,070 for general degree courses, 2,830 for professional and engineering courses, and 100 for medical courses.
The fellowship amounts are:
General degree courses: Up to ₹30,000 per year
Professional courses: Up to ₹1.25 lakh per year
Medical/BDS or equivalent streams: Up to ₹3 lakh each
