I’ve gotten Pneumonia twice. So I knew what to look for when I got it. And when I went to the Doctor the 2nd time, he didn’t believe me. I said I had before. So had to take an X-Ray and was Positive. If you never had it it’s bad if you don’t take care of it. You will get a lot of Coughing. Nonstop coughing. Leading to Gagging and mucus everywhere. Wheezing, out breath, chills and tired. The gagging is mucus going down your throat. Your Side might hurt, which is your ribs. You might of slight fracture your ribs from coughing hard. You feel it if you twist to the side. If it does hurt, I just bend over to give your ribs some support. It got really bad when it felt like I was drowning. The way I knew I had it is, when you lay down, you’ll hear your sinus draining and sounds like a coffee pot making coffee. Take NyQuil to get some Sleep, but you’ll need to go see your Doctor ASAP before it get worst. It’s one of those Things, once you get it you know what to look for when you think you get it next time. Cheers. 🍻

Okay. I've had it here's my real symptoms for bacterial pneumonia(most severe). I've had viral type twice(didn't need hospitalization) 1.) Extreme dehydration and coughing. Lost my voice. 2.) Extreme fever and chills. That swung every 3 hours. Temps 104. 3.) Blood from my coughing mucous. Cherry red. 4.) Extreme weakness. Just standing or keeping your eyelids open is exhausting. Overall you feel like you just ran a marathon. 5.) Bruised or cracked rib feeling. I couldn't stand/walk straight up. This is from condition known as Pleurisy, where the lung kinda tears from chest lining. 5.) Difficulty breathing. Crackling Phlegm noise and erratic short breathing. My lungs were over 50% ineffective. Had I not been young and top marathon condition I would have needed ventilator. 6.) I don't remember much running nose or sneezing at all. 7.) I do remember having problems holding down food. The most scariest thing, because my body was not absorbing any nutrients and getting weaker. Good news. Once, got into the hospital and after a day or two, Dr's isolated the pneumonia bacteria. Improved within 24 hrs. Getting the correct anti-biotic is key. Sooner they find it sooner you get better. For the two other viral pneumonia bouts, my temp hit 106 and was hit with extreme exhaustion but since it's viral there's no cure(just like common cold) you just get through it. My lungs were probably blocked about 25%, but no need for a ventilator. No blood and the pleurisy(feeling of broken ribs) were not severe.
@Matanumi
@Matanumi 4 года назад
How long did it take for the viral to go away completely?
@trexinvert
@trexinvert 4 года назад
Hmmm...that I don't know. Probably about same time I got over it, which would be about 2-3 weeks. One thing about pneumonia(viral and bacterial) is that it is not very contagious. Nobody close to me ever got what I had.

I have experienced the painful hard to breathe type of pneumonia twice. Each time I was given an antibiotic with a short course of low dose prednisone, where you take 8 pills the first night, 7 the next and so on, reducing it 1 pill per night, 35 pills in total. After the first dose before bed, I woke up at 3am in a sweat and could feel the lung congestion breaking up. I felt so much better and able to breathe without pain, that I went to work, and continued with the medicine as prescribed till finished. It was the closest thing to a miracle I have every experienced, and was so effective I was cured in no time. My question is, why is this medication not used in cases of respiratory distress now ???

Great overview! I would just like to emphasize the importance of influenza as a potential cause of CAP. Primary influenza pneumonia and secondary bacterial pneumonia as a consequence of influenza are something that most practitioners will see on regular basis, and there are some very distinctive qualities of primary influenza pneumonia that set it apart from other causes of CAP. It is not uncommon, it can be very severe and yet it is often recognized very late.

A chest film may be read as "normal" in the presence of pneumonia or cancer, especially if the patient is elderly and dehydrated. The elderly often do not mount a fever but appear "confused" when infected by bacteria (lungs; urosepsis). A diabetic with a pneumonia and fever can be rescued but less likely a diabetic with pneumonia and no fever.

Yeah but pneumonia has dozens of causes as stated in this video, and as stated in this video hospital acquired pneumonia is different from community acquired pneumonia. She almost certainly caught something not covered by the vaccine. I had three years of chest infections and one case of pneumonia. I got the 23 valent vaccine two years ago and have never had a cough since. Go vaccines! My daughter is getting every vaccine the doctors will allow. There's no way I would let my little girl die of something I could have protected her from.
