Correct if I'm wrong, Yabob had two villages, the Catholic Youths came up with, Old Dog and the Off Beats, and the Lutheran Youths with Kales Gadagads. God bless your music, RIP Sandy Gabriel (Kales) and Willie Tropu (Old Dogs).
Thanks for uploading history of Madang Musik. Kales set the benchmark for modern Madang Musik, that time dominated by Tolai and Papuans. Credit to Chris Seeto and the Tumbuna Track Studio in Madang town. Rest in peace Late Sandy Gabriel of Yabob.
Can still remember those days when I just couldn't go to sleep when the tape was played by grown up brothers and uncles while having a few.. the music was just too good to miss listening to despite the cold and occassional scolding from the adults. Cool greetings from Mendi, Kales still the feel good music ever!
I accidentally found this band and I’ll tell you how. I was watching a video by a RU-vidr called “flamingo” and long story short, someone in the game he was playing meant to wright toilet but instead wrote “tolit” so out of boredom, I looked up tolit and a playlist popped up called “PNG oldies” so I looked at it because why not and I wound up really liking it. I don’t know what they are saying, but I like it a lot. That is my story.
