PNR railway, Bicutan Station, South of Manila, Philippines

A hectic afternoon on a 1960's PNR built railway south of Manila. 2 trains pass each other at Bicutan station. Notice people have made little customized motorized/push trolleys for the tracks (which they use when no trains are coming). The chaos spills from the tracks/station to the main road as the trains clear the crossing, with several near misses involving buses and motorcycles. Just a normal sort of day in Manila.

Looking down on the scene makes me think of an ants nest.. Facinating stuff.. A differant world to UK..I have a number of Indian subscribers and see this sort of video from them..Just amazing. Thanks for making it and sharing.

Nice clip. One point - Maybe the line maybe was built in the 1960's as you note, but the rolling stock are relatively new Hyundai locomotives.

I heard the stock was old Japanese stuff. My focus in the video is the mayhem and lack of standards. This video was sold for commercial use and will be in a documentary shortly with the attention being on the home made carts that are used by the public on the railway.

+EA Green the line was opened in 1908 although Bicutan station didn't exist until 1977

give you tips when walking in that place. If someone come near you and declare a holdup, just walk across the middle of the road where cars and trucks. Believe me they wont follow you there and telling you you're crazy.. XD this happened with my friend and damn i was laughing out load when he told me lols XD

I'm a Duterte supporter and yes it does represent the Philippines, more or less, either figuratively or literally. Don't pay too much attention to a few defensive onion-skinned idiots who can't handle the truth. I don't have to sugarcoat the bitter truth that the Philippines has a long way to go to full development. However, I do have a problem with your insinuation that Filipinos are somehow living under a dictatorship. Go back to this same place you filmed and it's still the same shithole now as it was before. It's folly to think that the country is being perceived as living under some sort of authoritarian regime, yet people here have all the freedoms to oppose and fling shit at everything this government does with little to no consequences.
