I found your channel by accident, and I think I am so lucky to find it. Your videos are awesome and so helpful for me. Not only can I learn more wisdom in less time, but I can also learn from your way of teaching - precise and easy to understand and apply. Thank you Brian and hope that you keep doing your awesome work.
As someone with SEVERE ADHD, I always find it interesting when people put forth the theory that you have to just work really hard and train your brain to focus...the idea that your attention power becomes weak or, as you put it, "flabby" if you don't work hard on it like you would your muscles at the gym. That you can make your attention and focus abilities better by simply working hard on them. I really do envy people who that who that works for.
This is great, regarding REST what about us who don't have the luxury of shutting down at 4pm? How do you do this throughout the day to go to 6 or 7pm? Thanks!
Great video, thank you for sharing! I would argue that your mind can perform well beyond 4pm, even if you've been focusing all day. I wouldn't take a philosopher's word on that one. The Pomodoro Technique has helped me pull long hours without feeling like my concentration breaks down beyond a certain point. Keep in mind they didn't have electricity back then, so reading became problematic as the sun began to set.
Thank you! I think it can boost focus in certain ways but, personally, I don't think the addictive potential is worth it and there are much other, more "clean" ways to Optimize your focus! Optimize is now free! Sign up/tell your friends! www.optimize.me
Read them! I've skimmed a few chapters in a few books but otherwise I approach it like a chat with a brilliant thinker! -b Optimize is now free! Sign up/tell your friends! www.optimize.me
I enjoy your videos & learn from them. But this one…the description of ruminating is nauseating & that’s what comes to mind when I try to shift my focus . But, it happens.
