Je ne juge pas. J’admire et je contemple deux danseurs magiques qui ont su moderniser la danse. En restant très rigoureux, ils sont devenus des modèles pour la relève de jeunes danseurs. Patrick Dupond, qui a tout donné pour nous enchanter, restera inoubliable grâce à son désir d’être parfait, honnête et magistral dans tous ses ballets. Qu’il repose en paix. c'est vrai, elle danse jusqu'au bout des doigts, les mouvements de ses mains révèlent l'autorité et la domination du personnage ! très grande interprétation !
Pietragalla is truly remarkable here. Her balance @ 5:15 is flawless, and her arms evoke wing movements in a mesmerizing way throughout. Every inch of her body lives. The fouettes at 10:51 are so energetic, elegant and graceful!

First time seeing Pietragalla but am I impressed with her fantastic presence not to mention her technic as well as musicality. Also production was so theatrical and costumes elaborate and beautiful. It's wonderful to see POB in all its glory. Patrick Dupon hasn't much to show here but very assured partner for Marie and also great presence.

Wow!!!! Outrageously stunning! The front attitude into battement en point at 3:55 and fouttee end spins 11:12 - I'm blown away! No robotic techniques, but she becomes sheer dance in advance form!
I got goosebumps at the moment she takes the feather. To me she remains one of the best Odile that has ever been (the other two being Skorik and Gillian Murphy). And the Bourmeister version is my favourite.
Mais pour quelle raison Patrick Dupont n'a jamais été prof à l'école de Danse à l'opéra de Paris , je pense a Claude Bessy , quand Patrick Dupont était au bas de l'échelle , démoralisé , seul : Claude Bessy au lieu de l'embrasser et de dire " reprends la barre " n'aurait elle pas mieux fait de lui tendre la main 👋 en le faisant engager comme professeur a l'école de Danse de l'opéra de Paris , lui la plus grande technique de l'opéra ? alors tt ces témoignages de la Danse maintenant qu'il nous a quitté ça frise l'hypocrisie
Le monde de la danse et de la musique est un monde d hypocrisie, jaloux,.. Alors Claude Bessy n est rien a coté de lui, qui etait si sensible... Qui a aide beaucoup... Heureusement il a eu Leila.
I know this version of the music, but did not know the choreography at all. Odile was so EVIL. I just loved the drama of it all. I liked the use of the chorus and the jester; but like to see the Queen Mother more involved. I think this is the most powerful version of this scene I have ever seen. I do agree that maybe it was so over the top that Odile needed to soften briefly to convince Siegfried that she was his Swan; but it was so terrific that the audience knew exactly who she was.

This is the historical version of POB. When will it be performed again ? It is so powerful and so elegant. Choreography of act IV is also awesome. I miss this version a lot.

judith booth This is totally by Tchaikovsky (but slighted re-edited and scored by Drigo). The Vladimir Bourmeister version the POB is doing here was based on the original sequence of music pieces from the 1877 Moscow version of Swan Lake, not the St. Petersburg version done by Petipa 18 years later. If you find any scores of the original music of Swan Lake this should be in it.
She is amazing this version, but almost too much. Siegfried should be convinced that it is really Odette. And what was that get up on the Queen? Talk about over the top!

Coucoutchicou I am guessing you never watched the Sci Fi series Dune. These costumes, which btw I love, are heavily influenced by Dune and see a very different tone. But not imo a bad one.
What year was this performed ? Very theatrical She's certainly a gorgeous and great dancer but I'm not sure I like how she's so harsh/mechanical and whole production seemed kind of techno. But it was great to see different production of different era.
Patrick Dupont et M.Claude Pietragalla furent au niveau technique très au point mais selon moi, il y a ce défaut de la rapidité où le souffle est quasi absent.. Je suis navré de constater que les artistes préfèrent ne travailler que sur l'hyper technique et oblitèrent la dimension essentielle de l'expression de l'émotion, de la lenteur ( relative ) . Je préfère une Carolyn Carlson, et plus récemment un Benjamin Millepied ..Madame Pietragalla a gardé pour moi ce défaut rédhibitoire de la précipitation..
