I could not get the question 1 part of about VAT control account ;it says 1st May is a credit balance £9856 but you have put it in the debit side of vat control account in the spread sheet . As it is cedit means we owe so why did not put in credit side for 30th April , would you mind explaining that please ,
Hi, the amount on 1st of May was the opening balance which in fact the money owing to HMRC. If you consider this amount for April, this will be the closing balance, which is the difference between debits and credits. Since the closing balance goes on the lesser side, it will be on the debit side but remember it is just the balancing figure which allows you to balance both side. I hope this makes sense.
