Yeah, I agree. NK music has a lot of similarity with enka and older anime OPs. Maybe this similarity is due to "trot", which is a Korean musical style based on Japanese enka, popular in like the 1920s to 40s (but still popular with older generations today, including in South Korea). This sort of martial NK music might be in part inspired by trot (but also has a lot of the Soviet music tradition mixed in that would have formed it).

@@themoonfleesthroughclouds Oh please, even state media referenced the famine and called it an "Arduous March". Videos from that period of even people in Pyongyang show them being really thin. Causes and outcomes are up to debate but the event itself was pretty real

Its a mistranslation. They meant it like a forward push in a battle "an offensive attack". The official English name is "this is offensive" but its usually translated as "this is an attack". But personally i think "this is offensive" is the funniest thing to call a North Korean patriotic song
