The difference is that Gerald is just a geek that read and the talks about. I asked him a bunch of times if he has a portfolio...nothing! He lacks artistic touch and for me that's a no no. On the other side this guy WORK with video/film! What he says he also tests...in the real world nut just tech specs. That's the true difference between a greek and a artist! Cheers.
WTF I've just experienced!!!! 😳 I'm a VFX artist by profession. And I have to say, this was THE BEST looking explanatory video in the Internet. I know how much effort you've put in this video. Much much appreciation.. ♥️
I feel like i have to post under every of your videos that im always amazed by the effort, time, skill and perfectionism you put into these videos. Problem solving and understanding of how people would understand these informations in the best way are off the charts. Id love to see the AE Project haha. But for real.. a making off video would be really amazing. Im a professional so i know exactly what you did and how you did it but that also means i know the mountain of work a 22 min video like this represents. This is weeks of pure worktime.
Thank you so much for your amazing words of support. Makes it all worth it. I will surely try and work on a video that talks about how I make those videos. It's been by far the most requested topic to cover. Let me get some stuff out first then I'll see what I can do.
Wowwww wondering how much effort you put in this video... Wonderful animations and the story line, voice everything brilliant... Keep rocking... A wonderful clean video and explanation... Thanks dude
@@THEDPJOURNEY I recently made a tribute to Dante's Divine Comedy and used an "old" Canon camera, Vixia hf10, and with a lav Shure TL 48 and a Mix-Pre 10ii, using OBS software I made this scene...ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1WveF1yUWyQ.html
It’s pretty hard though balancing between RU-vid and DP work especially when you tube is not profitable. I surely can’t post once a week like others. So we surely need both, DPs and reviewers with no field experience but more time to create YT content
Excellent review as always! I'm not expecting any less of you. 👌👌👌I'm also waiting for BM to release a full frame version in a cube form factor with better dynamic range and better quality built-in nds and a new mount. Keep the amazing work coming! ☺️
They use the EF mount to keep down the heat generated from the sensor. If they would have used the RF mount, the heat dissipation system should have gone on the back of the sensor...making the camera size bigger and with a different shape/design. Great video as always mate!
I don't think that's the case, they have active cooling system which takes care of the heat. Besides, the 4K is a mirrorless mount, with a much smaller flange distance. The reason which I'm sure of is as I said, Politics and cost for borrowing mounts from other cameras. Thanks for watching
Who are the 23 people who downvoted this video? They must be jackasses. This guy is amazing and the amount of work he puts into each video is mind-blowing. Thanks for this effort. In case anyone missed it, Blackmagic has issued a firmware fix for the blue tint on the rear screeen.
Lately I've ben feeling the dire need to upgrade so soon to the 6K Pro. I really like the idea of the 6K Pro so much but your last comment at the end of the video reminded me that it really isn't the camera its your passion. Thank you so much for that comment. It reminded me I can still be patient and use my current BMPC4K until I'm ready for the 6K :).
Thank you for all the honest and helpful information. The amount of work you did here is marvelous. Those youtuber review video out there just so confusing!
Great video. I love your thorough analysis and comparisons that really make your videos so informative and helpful. I have the BMPCC4K, and I'll probably keep it. But, I am looking for a second/backup camera at the moment. So far, I am leaning towards the Sony FX3. While the internal NDs of the C70 are enticing, the price of the FX3 is a bit more attractive. Plus, I also wanted a second camera that specifically had strong AF abilities. Thanks again for another intelligent and useful video. And as others have suggested, it would be cool if you and Gerald Undone collaborated. That would be one INSANE video.
Thanks for your awesome support! I guess the algorithm didn't pick me up yet LOL. But I'm happy to have great supporters like you... spreading the word would surely help the channel grow. Really appreciate it
It's like a gh4 on steroids, just without the sdi. Still, the braw is sooooooo much better than 10bit. I'm still sticking with the pocket 4k, simply because the mount is more versatile and the sensor size looks better. I really hope they make another m43 camera at some point.
Correction: the battery grip for the 6K/4K with the dummy battery does not use Canon-style batteries. They switched to the Sony-style NPF-570 batteries for that grip but it lacks hot swap capability because of the dummy battery. The new battery grip is way better with three batteries and hot swap, but the old one used the same batteries. Note that the battery grips are not compatible with the other cameras but at least the batteries are all the same so if you already have a 4k/6k and want to add a 6k pro you can use all the same batteries if you get the battery grip for the 4k/6k.
About IR, have you tried a "Hot Mirror" filter that blocks almost all photo spectrum IR? In effect, it might shift the colours slightly towards cold, but it would not change with the NDs. Also, in theory, you would get a more accurate final image since IR does not necessarily get absorbed by different materials to the same extent.
Personally I prefer the BlackMagic‘s color science and look by far over SONY. But SONY has an amazing auto focus that you won’t get in the BM. Also Sony Is FF If that matters. So it all depends on what’s more important to you
Thanks this was very useful. One I first unboxed and tested my 6kpro I could've sworn it had autofocus not I can't seem to turn it back on. Anyone else experience this?
EVF uncomfortably sticking into my face? Are you nuts. I’ve been a photographer for 40 years and I’ve never had a problem. And the higher the resolution of the EVF the easier it is to manually focus if you need to do that. You obviously sound like you don’t know what you’re talking about.
Not sure you understood my point, I'm strictly talking about using EVFs for video, not for photography. The topic is about a the blackmagic "Cinema" camera, not "Photo" Camera. Unlike in photography, usually EVFs are articulated, makes it easier to shoot video with more flexibility than the Mirrorless type. Try it... It'll even be better for photos... I'm sure you'll like it
Good golly holy hell my friend. Your videos constantly blow me away. I am a very happy S1H user (thanks to you) and am not intending on buying this camera, but this video is, like, insanely good. You deserve a few million subs and maybe an Oscar or two. Keep up the great work!
Your reviews are always a joy to watch. I love the pacing, the content, the comparisons to other cameras and the slick motion graphics work. Outstanding work, so thanks for all the effort you put into these.
Thanks for your awesome work! Love your videos. I do really hope you will make a review on Nikon Z6 II with their recent autofocus firmware update. Just a few days ago, Gerald Undone covered Nikon Z6 II, saying that BM RAW works much better than on Panasonic S1H, as it opens all RAW adjustments, including White Balance. Just really want to see how it competes with the DP perspective. Thanks again!
There are some issues I discovered on the eBRAW in the S1H that Gerald didnt talk about. Trying to get official confirmation from BlackMagic to whether they'll be fixed or not before i publish my review. So stay tuned
It's time some camera brand manufacturer got to introduce you as their brand ambassador. The information you put here is priceless. I bet at some point of time, the camera designer thinks "Yeah, Why didn't I think of that? or. I could have designed it better" after watching your video. You skills are on par with the most geniuses out there. I wish you could starting teaching Cinematography & Davinci Resolve Color grading. I would the very first person to take up the course🤘🏻
Thank you so much for such amazing words of support! Really appreciate all you said. I am planing on dedicating more time to youtube, just finding it hard to balance it with my DP job, especially that YT is not profitable at all at the moment. But with such awesome support I'm getting from you and the community, hopefully soon we'll grow together and it'll start making business sense and I will dedicate more and more time for all sorts of content. Thanks again
If the rear LCD is 1,000 nits, that makes it the very first camera on planet earth that can be used for shooting HDR without an external monitor, regardless of price.
