I don't think there is anything faster in terms of woodworking joinery than Pocket Hole Joints, and, when done properly with the right pocket hole jig , they are super strong, in fact, in most cases the wood fails before the joint fail ... exactly the kind of toughness that is needed in some joints. The best thing about pocket hole joinery is that it's easy to take apart to fix or re-structure and then reassemble.

Saw a tv show the other day with two sisters who redo houses and build their own furniture. They named off three must haves, and a pocket hole jig was one of them. I'd never heard of it before. After this video, I know I have to have one. Thanks. Extremely instructive and helpful and well done.

I had the Pocket Jr for over a year and finally went to use it and wonder how. The instructions are ok but I prefer a video. Found yours and within a few minutes I was using it and doing great. Thanks, you helped me complete a project of framing the outside of a sliding glass door!

Thanks for the video, it helps a lot. I just purchased the Harbor freight version of the pocket hole jig,and, having used a kreg version before, am very impressed with the way they all work. I'm planning on building new cabinet doors for my kitchen, so this is going to be great to show my wife, so that she understands what we are doing. thanks again.

Thank you Colin. Another video I can save when I finally do my first pocket jig. I got the single pocket joint jig. I haven't tried it yet but I need to try on a silverware drawer as I live in a modular home and all the drawers are built cheap so I got some drawer slides and want to use the pocket joints to attach a new frame inside the cabinet. Thanks again.

If you are doing detailed furniture making and want to do a table then you are probably going to use dovetail joints. Other wise there is no reason why you cannot make a table with pocket holes.

I like your 90 degree board setup simple and very effective. A good tip people often neglect, hook up your shop VAC hose to it. I couldn't believe how much a difference it made drilling the holes. Since I did most of my projects outside. Instead of having to clear out the chips going up and down as in your demo, one push down like butter.
@knecht105
@knecht105 9 лет назад
68jacen I forgot to talk about the dust extraction so thanks for mentioning this, I actually do use it when making multiple holes, but so noisey, I didn't want to connect it for this, then forgot it altogether ...
