In Brazil we have that old say. In Portuguese we say: devagar se vai ao longe. And that little say represent everything for people who struggles: in life, in faith, in misery... and faith little by little is commonly advised here from our fathers.

In Italia they say piano, piano. Slowly slowly. It's just the same. It's so comforting in times of struggle... whether I was struggling with the language, mothering, missing home, etc. It's so full of hope, so encouraging. Trusting the Lord 25%, "little by little" to 26%? Struggling to forgive, "little by little" ? "Little by little" might be true in regarding how we deal with the obstacles of this life but that certainly does not apply to trusting God or forgiving others. True faith is inclusive of totally (100%) trusting God, the reason by which we CAN endure trials and tribulations. Also, if we don't forgive others then are simply not walking in the love of God. When Stephen was about to die due to being stoned he cried out... "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit...Lord, lay not this sin to their charge." Act 7:59-60 He had both complete trust in God and true forgiveness to his neighbour. Likewise Jesus... "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do...Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit." (Luk 23:34,46) We are either "New Creations in Christ, old things having passed away and ALL THINGS become new" or we are not. 2Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Not "little by little" with the "hope of making it." NO! That kind of attitude gives people assurance in their sins in believing that the Old Man doesn't have to die. The Old Man MUST die in order for the New Man to be born. This is what the Scriptures very plainly teach and it is something that has been practically lost to the world at large today. "Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved." Jesus of Nazareth, Mat 9:17 "Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit." Jesus of Nazareth, Joh 12:24 "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." Paul the Apostle, Rom 6:4 Please consider.

2013 when i had this encounter with God... in my depression I asked God when will this end.? And i heard God saying “little by little”. 😇

I think it is worth saying that yes we are meant to take everything in life little by little even life’s joys and wonders. As they are a gift we should cherish and take it all little by little not rushing through, noticing Gods love and wonder.
