Eagles and Poco regretted letting Randy left the band. He made the sound so special. And they realized it. He deserved more respect. The problems The Eagles had made him to left. So sad but the best choise he made for himself. He didn't like problems. Strong man to went his own way.

If I remember the story correctly, Randy needed to contribute a song for the Hotel California album. He came up with Try and Love Again due to a pending divorce he was going through.

Randy went on after he left the Eagles to continue making absolutely some more of his great music! Recently I came across some of his songs I never knew existed. There again...some more great sounds. Randy is Truely a great singer, and a great person as well. I am a Miesinette!❤

I have always been a "rocker" now at 71 I have not changed! From Deep Purple to Lynard Skynard that type of rock, Attend Woodstock and at least 100 concerts, but I count Poco as my favorite wether live or album because their music hit me in my SOUL!!!

Well, after not having to strain on those notes anymore, it makes sense he could nurture his voice. Same thing's happened with Journey. They ran Arnel Pineda's voice into the ground by asking too much of him for live concerts.

Randy had top 40 hits on lead vocals with both Poco and Eagles. TTTL gets tons of airplay today still, but this top 40 hit never gets played. Great Randy ballad; right up there with TALA, and IIT.

Such a great tune, the vocal harmonies at the end give me goosebumps. Poco were just amazing, two sides of the same coin as Eagles! That album from 1989 was on my turntable pretty much 24/7...amazing album.

I had a childhood friend who died approximately 15 years ago, and I played this song in his memory it just felt right at the time there wasn’t a dry eye there.
He did. While he had a couple of good solo songs...it does seem to me he always did much better when he was with a group. Take It To The Limit, Try and Love Again, Tryin', Certain Kind of Fool...and this one. He had spectacular voice. I think his absolute best one was Try and Love Again. Musically, Lyrically, Vocally...near perfection.

I grew up musically with Poco, West Coast Rock and the Beatles. But somehow I missed a lot of the Randy Meisner period of Poco... This is an awesome sound with him joined by Richie Furay and Jim Messina and Rusty Young. My goodness this was very special.

Time may ease that void, but it can never fill it. Miss that beautiful voice, Randy. I still kick myself for missing all your shows. I wish they'd had services such Uber and Lyft then. I would have gone to Clear Lake or whereever the closest one was. But I didn't even hear of those until only recently when I found old stories. So bummed.

Oh man, this one brings back the pain and the sadness of losing my first girlfriend when I joined the Marines. There I was on post basic training leave, and the girl I had been with since my 15th birthday let me know that she wasn't waiting around for me to finish my contract and that she was not marrying a Marine because of the moving around and the separation. There I sat in the Nashville airport waiting for my plane to Camp Lejeune, missing her and this song playing on the overhead speakers. Of course I moved on, but this song still brings a twinge of regret and a moment of missing her 26 years later. Poignant to say the least. Still see her when I go home, and this always starts playing in my head. Still a pretty girl, but 22 years married and 4 kids with her husband.
