We are in Blackpool from Easter 1991 onwards.
This is the busiest time for the original Tramway since the 1960s.
1991 was also a period of transition from the traditional trolley pole to the pantograph and you will see a number of trams earlier in the season sporting trolley poles only to be replaced with pantographs as the season moves on.
A number of trams also start the season in fleet livery and gain allover adverts and some have their existing adverts refreshed with new designs.
It never fails to astound us how many trams went to Fleetwood each market Tuesday in the season and you will see them in this presentation.
All of the footage was made on VHS video and has been expertly converted for us by Nick Meskell of Videoscene, to whom we are extremely grateful.
In order to analyse what you will see, we have taken each tram in the fleet and explain the characteristics of each fleet number.
